In 1928, our founder, Fujimatsu Moriguchi, started a small business in Tacoma, Washington, selling homemade fish cakes and other Japanese staples from the back of his truck to Japanese laborers working in the area.

98 years later, we're proud to remain family-owned and committed to the values that started it all, food, culture, community, and connection. 💙

Our Renton store opened in 2009 and so many wonderful memories have followed since. From those early opening days to Polynesian Festivals and the team members who have made the store what it is today, these photos capture just a few moments along the way. 📸
