✨ A busy little weekend in the bakehouse! ✨

This weekend was full of some really fun projects, and I got the absolute joy of helping add a little sweetness to some very special celebrations. 💙💛❤️

From a LEGO -inspired birthday cake to a beautiful “Last Toast on the Coast” bachelorette cookie set, I got to play with lots of different techniques, colors, and details—and honestly, this is the part of baking that I LOVE. Getting to take an idea someone has in their head and turn it into something they can actually celebrate with. 🥰

And… it’s been a minute since I rolled out the fondant! 😂

But I have to say… I think we still have it. 😉

And I’m just going to say this out loud:

Homemade marshmallow fondant is 1,000 times better than store-bought.

Okay. I said it. 😂
And I’ll stand by it.

There’s something so satisfying about getting back to techniques you haven’t used in a while and realizing, Yep… I can still do this! 💪🏼✨

I’m so grateful for everyone who trusts Mellie’s Bakehouse to be a small part of their celebrations. Every cake, every cookie, every little detail gives me another opportunity to create—and I’m pretty lucky that I get to do something I genuinely enjoy. ❤️

🎨✨ First foil balloon painting!

I’ve been wanting to try these for a while, and I finally gave it a shot! 🥹🎈

Is it perfect? Nope.
Am I proud of it? Absolutely. ❤️

Every new idea starts with a first attempt, and I’m having so much fun learning, creating, and dreaming up new ways to make your celebrations a little more special.

And this little experiment just might be a sneak peek of something coming to Mellie’s Bakehouse tomorrow… 👀🎒✏️

After lots of editing and family voting….We have finally committed to our menu for this Monday!

Can’t wait for you all to try the newest addition, mini bronuts! These little guys are a chocolate lovers dream!! This love child is a brownie donut collision topped with a chocolate glaze and sprinkles on top. 🍩

✨ Market Monday is almost here! ✨

I’m so excited to be back at the Sebewaing Township Farmers Market this Monday, August 3, and I’m so excited share what I’ve been baking!

This week I’ll be bringing:
🍪 Mellie’s Minis (gourmet mini cookies)
🍫 Cake sickles
🌮 Fresh homemade flour tortillas

👀 And… if all goes according to plan… a brand-new mini treat making its debut! I’ve been working on something that combines two classic desserts into one perfectly portioned bite, and I can’t wait to share it with you. 🍫

One of my favorite parts of these markets is meeting new faces, catching up with familiar ones, and watching people discover that “mini” doesn’t mean less—it means just enough to enjoy a little bit of everything.
