This tree has a new name, Mantis. It is the main corner tree that looks out over the entire orchard. We'd like to think this is a good omen of things to come.
Keep your eye out for praying mantises this spring/summer. They may have come from this one small egg case that has the potential to hatch hundreds of babies.

Happy 2026!

This is an official welcome to our page for Skagit Valley Chestnuts.

What a year 2025 was for us. Our first 60 chestnut trees were planted in January and we just finished planting another 100. We will soon have 12 acres of chestnut trees bringing new life to fields that once fed jersey cows on my parent's dairy farm in Skagit Valley, Washington.

More stories, updates, recipes, and fun facts will be shared along the way, but for now meet the team behind Skagit Valley Chestnuts - Dick, Stephanie, Ian, and Logan. Not pictured are LaNita and Michelle who are just as important but haven't made their way into a photo yet. 🙂

Our trees are still young so we will not be providing chestnuts to the community for several years but we hope you enjoy watching our fun until then.
