Tickets for Christmas Tea at the Farm from the Oconee Farm Collective go on sale THIS MONDAY, and we cannot wait to welcome you to Misty Valley Farm for one of our very favorite events of the year! ❤️

🎄 Christmas Tea at the Farm
📍 Misty Valley Farm | Walhalla, SC

🫖 Seating Times: 10:00am | 12:30pm | 3:00pm
🎟 Tickets: $50 per person
⏰ On sale Monday, October 19th at 7:00am

✨ Christmas dressy attire encouraged!

Your ticket includes a full high tea menu, live Christmas music, professional Christmas photos, and an absolutely magical setting inside the Farmhouse Gallery, which will be decked out in some of the most incredible Christmas decorations you have ever seen!

🎁 AND A SPECIAL BONUS!
You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase a completely unique Christmas ornament, hand painted by Vivian and Vonda, the talented artists of The Farmhouse Gallery. They are GORGEOUS and such a special keepsake from the day!

❤️ IMPORTANT! These sweet dogs need our help!

We love and appreciate Chad and Ashley from Birchwood Farm of Seneca! They are some of the hardest-working, kindest people we know, and they do so much for our community.

If you didn’t know, they also run a rescue for Livestock Guardian Dogs, opening their home and farm as a safe place for these precious dogs, many of whom come to them with heartbreaking stories.

And right now, they need our help! ❤️

Caring for and feeding large rescue dogs is expensive, and their biggest fundraiser of the year is coming up October 26th at Oasis Ranch Mini Golf!

There are so many ways to support them:

If there is one thing you should absolutely be buying local, it’s honey!

Truly local honey is made from the flowers, plants and trees growing right here in our own community. Many of us swear by it during allergy season, and raw local honey is packed with antioxidants and has so many wonderful uses and benefits.

But beyond all of that, when you buy your honey locally, you’re supporting the beekeepers who are caring for the bees that pollinate our gardens, farms and local food supply. ❤️

We are so grateful for each of you, for the work you do, and for all that you bring to our community.

🌾 Tomorrow is Farmer Appreciation Day. ❤️

We have been incredibly blessed to get to know so many of our local farmers personally, and if there is one thing we wish everyone could see, it is just how much of their hearts they pour into what they do.

The long days. The early mornings. The weather they can’t control. The animals that still need them when they’re exhausted. The seasons that are wonderful and the ones that are really, really hard.

So tomorrow, we hope you’ll take a minute to love on a farmer who means something to you.

Send them a note. Leave them a 5-star review. Drop off a treat. Buy them dinner. Or simply tell them, “I see how hard you work, and I appreciate you.”

Sometimes a few kind words mean more than we realize. ❤️

Let’s make sure our farmers feel a whole lot of love tomorrow.

We hope everyone is staying safe and dry with the storm! ❤️

It has been an amazing few days! We adventured up to Washington, DC and had the opportunity to visit the Department of Agriculture. WOW! What an incredible building! Don’t forget to vote for the SC Commissioner of Agriculture on November 3rd!

From there, we joined thousands of like-minded friends at the Homesteaders of America Conference in Front Royal, Virginia.

It has been such a fun few days representing the Farm Crawl, making new connections, and sharing the stories of all the wonderful things happening on our local farms right here in Oconee County!

And we finally got to meet Joel and Daniel Salatin of Polyface Farms, who have been a tremendous inspiration to us for many years. Grateful!

We have a little challenge for you between now and then…

Think of a farmer who has made a difference in your life, and make a plan to show them a little extra love on Monday.

Write them a sweet note of encouragement. Leave them a 5-star review. Drop off a little treat. Buy a gift card for dinner out. Or simply send them a message and tell them how much you appreciate what they do.

Farming is hard work. Really hard work. And so much of it happens quietly, behind the scenes, long before any of us see the finished product.

Let’s make sure our local farmers know just how much they mean to this community. ❤️🌾
