Was able to show a good friend our honey farm yesterday. Thankfully, the girls were calm and put on a good show without much fanfare. We were also able to pull just a few more frames of honey.

Next tasks will be to treat for Varolla mites, and then swap out give bodies with freshly painted ones before the fall season (and hopefully secondary honey run).

Just pulled 15 frames of harvestable honey for the summer honey run. Hopefully we will have it in jars before the first week of September.

Unless we get a decent run this fall, this will be the last opportunity for you to purchase our delicious golden liquid until the end of the spring nectar run.

Checked some honey supers the other day. It’s been hot and with little growth I have not idea now they have even managed to produce enough, but they are surly working away!

What a discovery!

The giant bee was first discovered in 1859, but since has only officially sighted once. Now, researchers have found a specimen alive and well.

Unlike social bees like the bumblebee, the solitary cuckoo bee uses deception to trick other bees into raising its offspring.

We aren’t entirely sure where the tradition of retiring old work boots to corner posts came about, but one thing we know for sure is… it’s cold outside!

Wishing everyone a happy new year, and a big thank you for all of the support from friends, family, and customers who have helped us have a successful first year of honey harvest.
