I won't set up at the Wears Valley Fall Fest today. Wish I could've stayed the full weekend. Turns out-

The crowd cleaned me out faster than ever before there! After 2 packed days, every last morsel has boiled away.

Even after ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐  these batches + cooking overnight to keep up, the demand outpaced what could cook.

The peanuts take 3 days to reach that perfect boil. And I'm not one to rush 'em. ๐๐จ ๐ฌ๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐œ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐š๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ญ!

So, yep. After 2 record days at this event, I ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ง ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ. Y'all showed up in full-Fall-spirit. And I couldn't be more grateful!

My wife Lana & I have logged plenty of miles in Smoky Mountain trails. Spotting critters, identifying wildflowers, and gasping at views that never grow old.

Once we're back home, I go to stir the pots. Keeping it simple with two flavors in the vats.

Meanwhile, Lana slips into her craft room. From piles - and piles - of thread & cloth spread across her sewing table, she whips-up tales from those adventures.

Peanuts tend to pop up everywhere I go!
The other day, I ran out for errands. ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐ŸŒพ Made a pit stop at Myers Brothers Farm because those open mountain views make it worth pulling over. Anyway.

Only minutes after I started to examine the mums, my daughter hollered over about some oddball gourd.

"That's a peanut pumpkin," one of the brothers grinned.

Now itโ€™s resting on my porch steps with the mums, the pup giving it his best inspection. ๐ŸŽƒ๐ŸŽช Later this weekend, the peanut pumpkin will be the decoration to primp & spangle my stand for Fall!

Now Iโ€™m curious. Turns out this pumpkin variety is more than a quirky decoration. ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿฐ I read those โ€˜uglyโ€™ growths leave it sugary sweet, good enough for desserts.

Anybody out there ever baked with one of these oddballs? ๐Ÿ’ฌ
