How we raise our animals matters because you are what you eat!

Our animals live their best lives before they serve us in a different way. Sunshine, fresh air, clean water, good food, and love from us!

The food our members receive is only food we would feed our family. Quality is important to us and that starts with how we raise our animals, grow our food, and bake our bread.

Each loss hurts but this one feels particularly hard! This morning one of our girls had a calf.

She had gotten AI done back in November of last year. We did a blood test, the result was negative.
She had gone into heat multiple times since (apparently false heats).

We didn’t have the vet check her before we started the AI process again last week because we were sure she wasn’t pregnant.

We were wrong and the AI process caused her to birth her baby too early this morning. She still had three months to go. Our hearts are so heavy and we have such guilt! So many we should have done this or that.

This one is hard because it could have been prevented. 💔

This is one of those hard learning experiences that we hate but have to go through unfortunately.

Last year we didn’t sell any chicken due to issues with the breed we were using and the hatchery having issues with hatching rates.

This year chicken is back and we are starting our own breeding program to make sure we are self sufficient as a farm. This will help us to make sure chicken is stocked all year for our members!

Fresh sourdough bread weekly in the farm store!

Long fermented for gut health. Good for the body and good for the soul.

When we allow our animals to live as God intended they are happier! This in turn creates healthier food.

All of our animals, yes even the ones we eat, get the best life on the farm. We get treats, loved ones and loves of space to just be.

You are what you eat!

farming isn't just about raising animals or growing food - it's about raising a life! One that feels slower, fuller, and deeply connected to the land we've been given to care for.

Daisy’s baby is coming soon and we are beyond excited for our first calf born on the farm. Tell us, do you think she will have a girl or a boy?

Farm fresh eggs are back in stock! We let our girls rest over the winter, but now they are producing again which means we have yummy eggs for our members.

Only days old when you get them, and beautiful orange yolks! You just can’t beat the taste and nutrition of farm fresh eggs.

We’ve been a little absent on here this year but that’s because we were growing a baby!

Welcome little Noah James. Born December 3rd (3 weeks before his due date) right here on the farm. Both mom and baby are doing great and our family is just soaking in all the baby snuggles during our slow season!

Next year we will be back to posting more behind the scenes, life growing a farm while growing our family, our animals and more.

Our family wishes you all a wonderful December, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Hog shares are here, and we have limited availability for the fall!

The pigs spend the summer foraging through the woods, and are now back on pasture for the fall/winter.

We have grown out a few hogs for fall availability and we are so excited to be able to have pasture raised, top quality pork for you!

Here are a few questions we’ve had about the hog shares:

Do I have to become a farm member to get a share? Yes. It’s a $25 annual fee (think of your Costco membership) that gets you access to meat and dairy shares, freshly baked sourdough and pastries, eggs, chicken, etc!

Do you have a payment plan and how does it work? Right now we are offering a holiday convenience payment plan! First you reserve your half or whole share with a deposit of $200 or $400 (depending on the share size). Your next payment isn’t due until til January. There will then be 4 monthly installments from January to April of about $121-$243 depending on the share size and final weight.

If I do the payment plan when do I get my meat? Once you’ve paid your deposit you can get half of your share anytime on or after November 14th. The rest of the meat will be stored at the farm for you and ready to be picked up after your last monthly installment in April of 2026.

What if I want to pay the full amount but don’t have room to store it? We will be able to store the meat here until April 1st 2026 and you can pick up as needed!

If you have any other questions comment “hog” and we will be happy to answer them for you!
