How we raise our animals matters because you are what you eat!

Our animals live their best lives before they serve us in a different way. Sunshine, fresh air, clean water, good food, and love from us!

The food our members receive is only food we would feed our family. Quality is important to us and that starts with how we raise our animals, grow our food, and bake our bread.

Each loss hurts but this one feels particularly hard! This morning one of our girls had a calf.

She had gotten AI done back in November of last year. We did a blood test, the result was negative.
She had gone into heat multiple times since (apparently false heats).

We didn’t have the vet check her before we started the AI process again last week because we were sure she wasn’t pregnant.

We were wrong and the AI process caused her to birth her baby too early this morning. She still had three months to go. Our hearts are so heavy and we have such guilt! So many we should have done this or that.

This one is hard because it could have been prevented. đź’”

This is one of those hard learning experiences that we hate but have to go through unfortunately.

Last year we didn’t sell any chicken due to issues with the breed we were using and the hatchery having issues with hatching rates.

This year chicken is back and we are starting our own breeding program to make sure we are self sufficient as a farm. This will help us to make sure chicken is stocked all year for our members!

Fresh sourdough bread weekly in the farm store!

Long fermented for gut health. Good for the body and good for the soul.

When we allow our animals to live as God intended they are happier! This in turn creates healthier food.

All of our animals, yes even the ones we eat, get the best life on the farm. We get treats, loved ones and loves of space to just be.

You are what you eat!
