Yesterday, I found one of my 2 sweetgrass turkey eggs had started to hatch before work. I’ve always wanted sweetgrass turkeys. I came home to absolutely no progress & discovered that the baby had shrink wrapped. I messaged a couple friends and realized it was time to intervene & assist. I gently peeled away the shell leaving the membrane attached to the poult.

Baby was very weak last night, but today is doing very well & is strong. The other egg was a dud.

Soooo happy my one sweet baby made it & is strong! 😍

I love our flock!!! Chickens, turkeys, guineas, & peafowl! 🐓🦃🦚🪶

We’ve added Cochins & frizzle Cochins to our breeding pens. Adding silkies this month as well.

We now have 5 incubators. One is loaded with pure red bourbon eggs (20 eggs), due to hatch over the next couple weeks

Unfortunately, this weekend we said goodbye to the sweetest old boy. Our home & farm won’t be the same. 💙 rest easy Scooby.

I purchased several dozen feeder fish for the birds today. What a fun time they had.

The peafowl were very Leary of the fish and actually hid up high watching them.

The chickens caught on and they’ve had fun stalking them.
