Chelino's Mexican Restaurant - Shawnee, OK has officially announced that its new Shawnee location will open tomorrow, Monday, August 24, at 10:30 a.m.!

After months of anticipation, preparation, and plenty of excitement throughout the community, the Garcia family is finally ready to open the doors and welcome Shawnee to its newest Chelino’s location.

🚔 COPS N KIDS RETURNS TO SHAWNEE! 🚁

The 8th Annual Cops N Kids event is coming to Shawnee on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center, 1700 W. Independence Street.

This FREE family event brings law enforcement, first responders, families, and the community together for an afternoon packed with activities. The first 1,000 kids will receive a free T-shirt and goodie bag!

Visitors can look forward to police rides, emergency vehicles, K-9 demonstrations, helicopters, a bike rodeo and bike giveaways, Bigfoot Monster Truck, free hot dogs, games, clowns, face painting, Kona Ice, the Scooby-Doo Mystery Machine, and much more. Vision Bank will also host a tie-dye party, and free Wi-Fi will be available courtesy of Vyve.
