Here’s something some of my Chalet followers might not know about me …. 😬
I’ve been breeding and raising AKC Boston Terriers for 10+ years 🩷🐾

So before I was studying feather color, confo, structure, egg color genetics, all the things….
I was studying canine pedigrees, temperament, health issues, etc., and planning my breedings with the same goals I have today:

Produce healthy, high quality animals that are thoughtfully bred with purpose 💪🏻

Be it four little paws, or two tiny chicken feet, my standards, ethics, and goals are all the same: know your genetics, be patient, look for trends, keep good records, and always strive to make the next generation better than the last.

I know I brag on my dogs a lot, but I truly believe I could not successfully keep a free ranging flock without them. We came inside for lunch, the dogs alerted to a ruckus in the front, ran to let them out and they immediately darted straight to a bush right beside the porch steps. Next, I’ll just say that Viper showed me this little cockerel left hiding under that same bush, bleeding. He is actually fine, just shocky, but without my dogs, he’d have been a victim.
Viper is still very concerned about him 🩷

Thank you so much to Dan River Poultry for producing this stunning little Bantam Salmon Faverolle sweetheart, and to Gracie Jane’s Hen House for orchestrating getting him to us! He is beyond sweet, and we are super excited and grateful for the addition to our sf coop! He’s already learning who his servants are as he was chauffeured home between our laps and the center console 😂
