🖤🐣A VERY big (and long 😄) shoutout to HB Marans, and Little Chicken Farms! 🖤🐣
There are moments in breeding when you look at what's in front of you and feel genuinely humbled by the opportunity you've been given. This final hatch of BCM's is one of those moments for me. I've worked for what feels like an eternity, and struggled so tirelessly to be able to finally announce that my BCM Flock is officially CLOSED. I can't believe I finally said it ...
I want to extend the sincerest THANK YOU to HB Marans and Little Chicken Farms for trusting me with the genetics that represent years of dedication, knowledge, patience, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I know these birds do not happen by accident. It takes countless generations of thoughtful pairings, meticulous selection, difficult decisions, and breeders who've poured so much of themselves into preserving and improving this incredible breed.
And I DO NOT take that lightly for even a second.
I also want to be really clear that my excitement over taking these particular genetics forward does not, in any way, diminish my appreciation for the wonderful breeders who have helped me get to where I am today with my BCM's. Every breeder I have worked with has played a part in building my program, and for that, I will be forever grateful to all of you ❤️
But I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I'm just feeling a little extra humbled today after moving my future of a completely closed BCM flock to the brooder. I now have genetics from breeders I consider among the absolute GOATs of Black Copper Marans entering my little village and thats pretty damn special!!
My goal is not to put my name on someone else's hard work. It is to honor that work by holding myself to the same standards that made these birds so special to begin with. I know I have alot to learn, but I'm here for it! To all the breeders who have contributed to my journey thus far - thank you, from the bottom of my heart. And to Holly and Jen, you ladies have set the bar high! I promise to always respect, protect, preserve, and thoughtfully carry your genetics forward.
Here's to respecting the past, being intentional in the present, and breeding for an even better future! 🥂
