🌾 A Little Homestead Update 🌾

Hey friends! I wanted to give a quick update as we settle into this busy fall season. 🍂

For now, our farm stand will remain porch pickup only, and we’ll be stocking items by pre-order instead of keeping it open regularly. This helps us keep things simple and sustainable while balancing family life, homestead chores, and everything in between.

I also wanted to share our working hours so you know when I’ll be checking messages and comments. As a wife and mama first, my business hours are limited and scheduled around family time.

Sunday – Saturday
• 1:00–3:00 PM
• 8:00–9:30 PM

If you message outside those times, don’t worry — I’ll get back to you as soon as I can during those windows. Thank you so much for your patience and for continuing to support our little homestead. 💛 Every kind word, order, and bit of encouragement means the world to us.

Times are tough! We get it 100%. Which is why we’ve decided to offer a loaf of sourdough sandwich bread F R E E every week for the rest of 2025. Here’s how this will work ⤵️⤵️

1) Nominate someone ELSE in the comments or send us a message.

2) Nominating yourself or tagging someone else to nominate you is not allowed.

3) Once you’ve been nominated and have received your loaf of bread, you will be no longer be able to be nominated. Also note that not everyone who is nominated will receive bread.

4) I will personally be delivering these loaves of bread (weather pending), so you must know the address of the person you’re nominating or be able to get that address to us (please don’t post someone else’s address in the comments).

5) Must live within a 15 mile radius of our home (you can pinpoint Cornerstone Christian Academy in Shelbyville on a map to figure that out).

6) That’s it!

Ingredients for our sandwich bread: organic sourdough starter (organic flour and filtered water with naturally occurring yeast), organic flour, filtered water, organic honey, salt, butter

Everything is made following Kentucky Cottage Food laws

Friendly reminder that if you get UNWASHED fresh eggs from anyone, you can water glass them and won’t have to buy store bought when the winter comes. We now have 12 jars ready for the cold season; the goal this year is 15 and that’s probably overkill.

Recipe:

Half gallon mason jar
2 tbsp pickling lime
4 cups filtered water
16 eggs (or however many will fit)

I seal with my vacuum sealer for jars. This will be our third winter with jarred eggs and we’ve never had bad eggs or any other issues. The eggs HAVE to be UNWASHED because the eggs still have the “bloom” on them which is their protective coating.

Lord, I don’t need them to be perfect —
just planted.
Rooted in grace.
Growing in character.

I’m praying that my children would not only learn Scripture… but *love* it.
That their hearts would light up with truth.
That prayer wouldn’t just be a routine — it would be their refuge.
May their love for the Lord grow deeper each day.

Hey y'all! We hope that all the back to school fun as gone well and that the first week back was a blast. We've finished our first week feeling pretty good about our homeschooling curriculum option and are excited to see where it takes us this year.

We wanted to give a little update on our farm stand:

We are still working on our physical farm stand for a self-serve option. In the meantime though, we are happy to take orders through this order form. I offer pickups on Wednesdays and Saturdays, so please plan accordingly. In the photo below you'll see our bread and dessert offerings. The order form should allow you to choose what you'd like whether just one item or multiple.

On pickup days, I am also working on having a table set up with some other handmade items available for purchase, think gift shop type items. I'll have adult and child aprons, keychains, book sleeves, market totes, etc. We appreciate your business and support in any form or fashion! 🍞 BREAD ORDERS 🍞

Our makeshift farm stand got ruined in the storm that came through opening weekend, so we’re working on building the one that we originally wanted (weatherproof). So we won’t have a stand open this week, but I (Haley) am still making bread! If you’d like a sandwich loaf, let me know so we can arrange pickup and I know when to make them. I need at least 24 hours notice ☺️
