Took Honey on her first trail ride this morning.

She was a little spicy at first and definitely tested me, but once she realized what we were doing, she settled down and did really well. For her first time being ponied on the trail, I was pretty happy with her.

Also, huge shoutout to Apollo. I’ve never ponied a horse with him before, and he hasn’t been ridden in 8 months, but you’d never know it. He just went right to work and took care of his job like always.

That horse is worth his weight in gold. ❤️🐴

Pistachio 🐽

This little guy will always have a special place with us. When we got him, he was SO tiny he had to stay inside for a few days and even slept on the couch with me , and honestly? He did better than a puppy. Slept through the night, zero accidents, and somehow was less dramatic than most dogs. 😂🐷

He’s got the sweetest, calmest personality… until it’s time to annoy the other pigs. Then suddenly he thinks he runs the whole farm.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I did my nightly garden walk!

Tomato’s have started to produce already. Which is wild since last year at this time I didn’t even have anything planted. So excited to be able to have fresh veggies earlier this year 💕

All the hard work was so worth it.

Random question because I’ve been thinking about this lately… if you could only keep ONE type of farm animal, what would it be?

Honestly, ours would probably be the Kunekunes. They have so much personality and act more like weird little dogs half the time. 😂🐖

But for real he jokes about the amount of plants/seeds I have but always supports my hobby. Like how can you possibly expect me to not grab a pack everytime we go to Lowe’s, Rural King, or Tractor Supply?!

I have some self control, but not that much 🤣🫣

Our broody Black Copper Maran finally hatched her babies… and immediately proved that motherhood is not for everyone. 🫠🐥

Miss girl decided raising feral driveway children during a rainstorm was the better option instead of staying in the nice safe nesting area we gave her. We ended up finding TWO tiny chicks wandering the driveway soaking wet while she stood there looking confused.

And that right there is why she got moved to the blue tote maternity ward. Sometimes being a mom means losing free range privileges. 😂

The pasture potatoes needed some extra shade with how hot it’s been lately, so we put up a shade cloth for the girls. Super quick, cheap, and it makes a huge difference for them in the summer heat. ☀️🐷

Fun fact: pigs can’t sweat, so they need shade, mud, or water to help stay cool. Without it, they can overheat pretty fast.
