PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Please, dispose of your wood stain rags correctly! After a used stain rag spontaneously combusted, melted plastic tarps and sawhorses covered every inch of this pole building/bar in black soot. Every hair and antler tine had to be blown off, shampooed, scrubbed, and re-groomed. This clean truly tested our limits, but the results are undeniable! 💪

Another family heirloom saved from basement storage by The Mount Medic! Weighing nearly 100 lbs, this massive moose rack was a prized posession passed down through three generations. (Maybe dropped down is a better term.)
Hours of head scratching and some feats of engineering went into this now being displayed prominently above the fireplace in their family hunting lodge. A custom leather wrap and a new hardwood plaque ensure the stories of this hunt will be shared for generations to come!

$220.00… This is what $220.00 of driftwood looks like. The driftwood that your bear mount stands on, or frames your prized fish on the wall.
Sourced from a supplier that brings it from Canada, due to our DNR’s strict policies on collecting it in Michigan. When you add in labor/driving hours and the federal fuel mileage rate to haul it back to our shop, this small pile cost well over $550.00. In my family, that’s two weeks of daycare, or three weeks of groceries for what most people would consider firewood.
A little food for thought the next time you think your independent taxidermist is over-charging you. We greatly appreciate each and every one of our clients who continue to support our small business during these tough economic times!
