Finally got to do something I’ve been trying to do this year and timing hasn’t been right til tonight. Tonight I got to attempt an AI on my son’s doe Lake. Echo-Run OBBC Lake Erie (2*M Pending) has been AI’d to *B Luvruc OBRC Davinci. Davinci was a son of SGCH Tutlelu Annielu 4*M. Annielu was the ADGA Reserve National Champion in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Yes! 3 x Reserve National Champion!!! She was an extremely beautiful doe and very correct throughout. Crossing her with one of our *B Ober-Boerd T Battlecry daughters has always been something we wanted to try and to finally get the chance we are ecstatic! Fingers crossed she settles. 🤞

Sorry it’s been a few days. Our kids have been very busy with extracurricular’s. I did want to let everyone know that Ribby is home and is officially eating!!!! She is doing well and now has a 100% chance of survival!!!! Yay!!!!

While Ribby is healing and taking it easy. We would like to start introducing our herdsires that we will be using this year.

First up is Echo-Run HP Remus Lupin aka Loopy (**DNA**) (AS1 E/E)

He is the son of our son, Harrison’s doe, Echo-Run OBBC Lake Erie (**DNA**) (AS1 E/E). Lake is currently on track to earn her *M this year in all three categories which will then make Loopy a *B. Lake goes back to our matriarch doe, Fancy. Vanjust TA Fancy (**DNA**) (AS1 F/F) (FS86 VEVV) was a small compact doe who had lots of power behind her. She may have been small but she was very correct and placed ahead of a lot of bigger does at the 2018 National show to get 8th Place 3 year old. She freshened in 2019 with Lake’s dam, Echo-Run MTS Later’s Baby! 1*M (**DNA**) (AS1 E/F) (FS84 GGGG). Later’s was Harry’s first doe and misses her horribly. We lost her due to kidding complications during the ice storm this past winter. She will live on through her daughter, granddaughter, grandson, and future generations.

Loopy’s sire, *B Echo-Run DOC Harry Potter (**DNA**) (AS1 E/E) was a big beautiful boy who left us too early. We lost Potter and his sire Doc during the ice storm this past winter. Potter’s dam was SGCH Vanjust HE Hermione 1*M (**DNA**) (AS1 E/F) (FS90 VEVE). Mione was the sweetest natured doe. She did everything she could to please everyone. Mione was also long with such a smooth top line and rump that you could easily balance a plate on her and it would stay there even while she walked. Such a graceful doe. She was also fabulous in the show ring and was the 2017 ADGA Reserve Jr National Champion as well as earning a Silver Swiss Belle Award for her 2021 lactation. Potter’s sire, *B Ober-Boerd Doctor Strange (**DNA**) (AS1 A/E) was the son of the famous GCH Vanjust 3GS Dallaz 3*M (**DNA**) (FS89 VEVE) who was the 2018 ADGA National Total Performer, 2021 ADGA Reserve National Champion, Best Udder, and Total Performer, and topped the Breed Leader list for multiple years.

We have 3 kids from Potter this year and retained all of them to carry on his genetics. We couldn’t be more excited to see how Loopy’s kids turn out.

All Oberhasli doe kid reservations are full for this year. We do still have buck kid reservations available.

Update

Ribby is holding her own. She is responding to antibiotics and antivenom. She is drinking water with apple juice added to entice her. She is also nibbling on hay and grain. Ribby actually tried to look over the stall wall when we got to the vets office today when she heard me singing Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. All of our goats know when I’m coming to the barn as I always start singing it when coming out of the house. Vet has changed prognosis from 5% to 50% chance of survival. She will be losing the left side of her udder while the vet is trying to save her right side.

Please everyone pray for Ribbons. She is our last full Saanen on the farm. She was bitten by a poisonous snake some time within the last 24-36 hours and her udder on the left side has turned gangrenous from the toxins. She is currently in critical condition at the vets office getting the udder debrided, fluid therapy, iv antibiotics, and pain meds. We are hoping for a miracle.

Our does past and present for the last few years have finally been awarded for their hard work! So happy these girls have gotten what they deserve.

Last week we welcomed back home Cream-of-Kansas’ RUS Jazzed. Jazz is looking great and acting like her old self. We also have her son from this year, Hayburner Acres ERW Jazzman aka Louis, who will also be working in the herd this fall as well. Jazz is disease cleared and will hopefully come out of quarantine in mid August. We are looking at a potential AI for Jazz to *B Haycreeks Sandman Aston as long as all the stars align right.
