I dont know if you believe in that hocus pocus stuff with a groundhog predicting weather. His percentage rate is as good as believing the weather man. But my sprouts say that spring is right around the corner. What are you waiting for? Get them seed started.

Another way to heat/cool greenhouse/coop/home is with geothermal. Many different options from just burying pipes in the ground with an intake and exhaust with a small fan to complete kits.

Compost heating is an alternative to provide heat naturally. It's a DIY project that many should have no issues doing to provide heat tonyour greenhouse/chicken coop/home with very little effort. I haven't found a great video on YouTube but there are plenty on there with details on how to accomplish this.

Just a FYI...

Chickens do not need heat lamps in their coop if it is draft free and dry. Chickens can handle sub zero temps if their coop is draft free and dry. With a little proper feed, (cracked corn) it helps them produce their own heat to survive sub zero temps if their coop is draft free and dry.

222 plants started and ready to be moved to the greenhouse tomorrow to make room for round 2. Many will get planted in our garden but we plan on having plenty to sell at our farm stand come spring time. What else would you like to see??

With all the windy days and the rain we got, the greenhouse is up. Not its not Instsgram pretty and I still habe a mess to clean up and get the inside functional, but its finally built and covered. To be continued

I soaked a mixture of six way scratch oats and wheat in a bucket of water for about a week. Then I spread it all out underneath the pool which I drilled a lot of holes in soaked it well and today I noticed grass coming out of the holes so I lifted it and Walla. It even sat there through the freeze we just had.
