Happy SeptemBER 1st! 🍂🤎

The first of the “BER” months is officially here!

As much as I hate to see summer come to an end, I have to admit… fall will forever have my heart. 🍁

The leaves changing into the most beautiful colors, cool crisp mornings, windows open, cozy sweaters, hot coffee, apple c***r, pumpkins, bonfires, and ALL the fall things. ☕️🍎🎃

There’s just something about this time of year that feels a little slower, a little cozier, and a whole lot sweeter.

Here’s to soaking up the last little bits of summer while getting excited for everything the “BER” months bring. 🤎🍂

MD/ VA friends.. we will be back at Springfield Manor Winery this coming Saturday, September, 5th to teach a sourdough class from 12-3. If you want to order bread to pick up comment below or message me. Ill send the invoice and you csn pick up before or after class!
I will be making plain loaves, double chocolate, and jalapeño cheddar! All orders must be in my Wednesday, September 2, at 3pm!!

Good morning, friends. 🤎

I think I’m still processing our very first Shippensburg Corn Festival.

I woke up this morning feeling just as incredibly thankful — and honestly, still a little bit in shock — over the love you all showed Starting All Things Sourdough yesterday.

There were so many moments throughout the day that I don’t think I’ll forget.

We met so many wonderful new people and had some of the best conversations with you. We saw so many of our regular customers, and then there were the faces I hadn’t seen in years — customers who supported us back when Shippensburg had its farmers market and I was just starting Starting All Things Sourdough. 🥹

Seeing some of you again after all these years felt so incredibly full circle.

And then there were the little moments I wasn’t expecting.

Hearing people walking by our tent telling whoever they were with, “She’s got the best sourdough,” or “Her stuff is amazing,” without even stopping or realizing I could hear them.

Those little comments meant more than you probably know. 🤎

When you spend so much of your time behind the scenes — feeding starter, mixing dough, shaping loaves, baking, packaging and preparing — sometimes you don't realize how far this little business has reached until you're standing in the middle of your hometown and get to see and hear it for yourself.

So, Shippensburg… thank you.

Thank you to our regulars who continue to show up for us. Thank you to those who have been here since the very beginning. Thank you to every new customer who gave us a try yesterday. Thank you for the conversations, the kind words, the recommendations to friends and family, and simply for stopping by our tent.

We are already working on our application for Corn Festival 2027 and taking plenty of notes for next year.

And yes… the biggest note is:

BRING. MUCH. MUCH. MORE. 😂🥖

It was so, so good to be back, Shippensburg.

Our hearts are very full. 🤎

I’m sitting here after Cornfest feeling incredibly grateful.
To every single person who stopped by my tent today—whether you’re one of my regular customers who continues to support this little bakery week after week, or today was the very first time you purchased from Starting All Things Sourdough—thank you from the bottom of my heart.
We brought more than 200 packages of bread and baked goods with us this morning, and by 11:00 AM, you had completely sold us out. Even our basket of sourdough starter kits was nearly empty! I share that not to brag about numbers, but because behind every loaf, scone, cookie and oatmeal cream pie was a person who chose to support my small business today. I don't take that for granted.
There are so many places you could spend your time and money, and the fact that so many of you chose to spend some of it with me means more than I can say.
And this weekend definitely took a little village of my own. 🤎 Thank you to my father-in-law for the beautiful corn stalks and pumpkin decor straight from his garden—it was the perfect touch for my Cornfest setup. 🌽🎃 Thank you to my husband for getting up early and helping me get everything set up this morning, and then coming all the way back at 4:00 to help tear it all down again.
And my girls—my assistants. 🤎 Thank you for being there beside me, helping with customers, packaging, setup and all the million little things that go into a day like this. Having you there with me makes these days that much more special.
A very sincere thank you to the Shippensburg Corn Festival committee and everyone working behind the scenes who puts so much time and effort into making this event happen. What an incredible day you gave our community.
And we truly couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather. That cool morning air gave us just a little kiss of fall before the day got going. 🍂
I came home tired, grateful, and reminded once again how fortunate I am to get to do what I love in the community I call home.
Shippensburg, you showed up BIG today. Thank you. Truly. 🤎
