🤍 Paisley 🤍

This girl will always have a special place in my heart and at Sage Prairie Farm.
Paisley was my very first bird I ever showed at the fair, and getting to watch her bring home some amazing ribbons was such a proud moment for me. She really gave me the confidence to start showing my birds and be proud of what I’m raising.
We didn’t have her for nearly long enough, and sadly we recently had to say goodbye. But even though our time with her was short, she made such a big impact on me and this little farm.
When we buried her, I put a little sprig of sage in the bouquet with her as a small tribute to Sage Prairie Farm and the special place she’ll always have here.
Thank you for being my first fair girl, Paisley. You’ll always be a special part of Sage Prairie Farm. 🤎

Young Zombie rooster 🐓

Born June 22nd (3 months old). He’s a mix Ayam Cemani × White Leghorn. I call him my “moldy chicken” because he has cool splashes of black throughout his feathers and skin He was hatched here and handled a lot, so he’s used to being held.

I hatched too many roosters this year, so he needs a new home. Rehoming fee: 💲3️⃣5️⃣

Meet-up only. Located in Cowlitz county

🥚💚 OUR FIRST EGG! 💚🥚

The moment I opened the coop and found this little green egg… I was SO excited!

It’s tiny, it’s green, and it’s officially the first egg from Sage Prairie Farm!

I’m pretty sure this little one came from MJ, our black Ameraucana mix.

Such a small egg, but such a BIG moment for us!

We’re getting closer and closer to what we’ve been working toward here at Sage Prairie Farm, and I can’t wait to see what this little flock brings!

Our very first egg. 🥚

🌿 Sage Prairie Farm’s website is officially LIVE! 🌿

I’m so excited to finally share the beginning of something I’ve been working on behind the scenes! 🐓🤎

The website is still a work in progress as I continue building everything up, growing out my birds, and getting things ready for the future. Some pages and details may continue to change as the farm grows.

Starting March 2027, orders will officially open! 📖

Until then, you can visit the website to follow along, learn more about Sage Prairie Farm, and see what’s being planned. I can’t wait to share what’s to come!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me while I’ve been getting everything started. This is just the beginning!

🌿 Welcome to Sage Prairie Farm

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to finally start introducing Sage Prairie Farm and sharing my little chicken adventure with you all.

I’m still in the early stages of getting everything set up, so please bear with me as I learn, grow, and figure everything out! Right now I’m working on things like getting the website together, growing out my birds, establishing my breeding groups, and figuring out exactly where I want to take Sage Prairie Farm.

I’ve always had chickens growing up, so caring for them has always come pretty naturally to me. I’m newer to the chicken community and breeding world, though, and I’m still learning all of the dos and don’ts that come along with it. I’m excited to learn from others, meet fellow chicken people, and make some connections along the way.

One of my biggest interests is fibro birds and unique crossbreeds and breeding projects involving them. I’ve always loved birds that are a little different, and I’m excited to see what some of these projects become as they grow.

As Sage Prairie Farm develops, my goal is to eventually offer:

• Chicks
• Hatching eggs
• Shipped hatching eggs
• Unique and specialty breeding projects

I’m still figuring out pricing, shipping, availability, and all of the little details, so those things will come as I get further along. I’m also willing to meet up with buyers in different counties when possible rather than everything having to be shipped.

I currently have around 30 chickens, and I’ll be introducing some of my special and rarer breeds in future posts. There are definitely some fun birds here that I can’t wait to show you!

And just to clear up one thing from the beginning:

Sage Prairie Farm is NOT an eating-egg business. I don’t regularly sell eggs for eating. If I ever have eating eggs available, I’ll specifically make a post about them.

For now, I’m mostly here to learn, grow, share my birds, and build something I’m really proud of.

So if you love chickens, rare breeds, fibro genetics, unique breeding projects, or just want to follow along and watch Sage Prairie Farm grow from the beginning welcome!

There’s a lot more to come. 🐣

Going WAY back to hatch day because somehow these babies are already 10 weeks old
My little Zombies
and Ayam Cemani
starting their lives as tiny, wet little babies... and now they look COMPLETELY different.
The pigmentation differences between the Ayam Cemani are especially interesting to me when it comes to future breeding.
But the real story is what happened to one of these chicks after this video...
I seriously cannot wait to tell you guys her story.
Part 2 coming soon 00
