Carrie Rose Garden Carrie Rose Garden sells fresh cut flowers and herbs at the West Reading Farmers' Market in West Reading, PA.

All flowers and herbs are grown on our family farm in Lower Heidelberg Township, PA. Carrie Rose Garden is operated by the third, fourth, and fifth generations of the Rick Family. The land we grow on, known as State Hill Fruit Farm, was purchased by John and Carrie Whitner Rick in 1908. For much of the last century the farm was a working orchard. Since the late 1970s most of the land has been leased to a local farmer who grows grain.

It's a rainy day in the garden, but before it got going too hard, a hummingbird ran into Rosie's hooded head as she picked cosmos. I heard "I'm sorry if you wanted that one!" Life is good in the garden even on a rainy day. Come see us tomorrow at West Reading Farmers Market and maybe even take home a hummingbird kissed arrangement.
