Rutherford County is one of the fastest growing counties in the entire country. Most people around here know what that means — farmland goes, subdivisions come. This is what it looks like to try to stop that on 74 acres in Smyrna, Tennessee. 🌱

Agritourism is the only economic model that makes keeping land open actually pencil out. The land has to pay for itself or the land gets sold. That’s what I’m sitting here solving. One spreadsheet at a time.

If you've watched Middle Tennessee especially around Nashville change in the last ten years then you know exactly why we bought this land. Today I'm doing the unglamorous work that happens before a single Christmas tree gets cut or a single market stall goes up. Agritourism insurance is not glamorous. But it's what protects the farm that protects the land. Follow along — it only gets more interesting from here.
