How beautiful is God's Creation?
While I was chasing a heifer who wanted to go on an adventure in the heat today I came across the beaut!
This is a rainbow scarab, a species of dung beetle found here in NC. It is also one we do not see very often. The picture doesn't quite do justice to the shimmer on the exterior of this beetle. Absolutely stunning!
Even though I was DRENCHED in sweat this afternoon it caught my eye and had to stop and appreciate it. A small bug that spends its life digging in manure and it is incredible, just beautiful.
This also echoes why practices are so important. There are many common applications in our conventional ag systems that fight these guys. Managing our grazing and letting these guys bring the inputs for us is the whole reason we get to experience small moments like this. It goes way beyond the meat, nutrients, and more. It's a respect for HIS creation and an act of stewardship for the land we are blessed to call home.
