The rain began this morning just after we finished harvesting - good timing and some welcome moisture! The current forecast is for nicely cloudy and cool weather tomorrow morning so we'll be at the Liberty Farmers Market (423 W Swannanoa Ave) tomorrow, Saturday 8/22, from ca. 8:30 to 11 am.
Boy, do we have watermelons this week: six small red Blacktail Mountains, two big yellow Leelanaus, and three big hybrids! It turns out the bees cross-pollinated the red Ledmons with one of the yellows and they're pink and yellow inside so we're calling the hybrids Rainbow Sherbet, lol! Their flavor is hit or miss (but we can give you some tips about this) so they'll be on special.
We'll also have plenty of Roma tomatoes and jalapenos, as well as okra, vine peaches (miniature melons), poblano peppers, sweet banana peppers, ugly slicing tomatoes, red Malabar spinach, mixed greens, red onions, Ancient Spring Farm honey, various herbs (Genovese basil, Thai basil, lemongrass, orange thyme, spearmint, and lemon balm), flowers, at least one dozen eggs, and more.
