Howdy Friends!
Dirty Soda is stopping by to let you know he’s slowly but surely integrating himself into the herd! Although I’m still his best pal in the pasture, it’s been great to watch him learn all the bovine and herd animal etiquette as he grows like a w**d!
This past weekend I was able to donate 2 beef baskets for raffles at great events & I was so excited to get the winners their prizes!

Howdy Friends!
Yesterday we celebrated miss Rhubarb’s 3rd Birthday! In true Risky Business tradition & style, she received her birthday donuts after her grain🐮❤️ of all the decisions I didn’t want to make, I’m so glad I was coerced into making the decision to bring Rhubarb home. The little blue heifer I never knew I needed has become a vital part in my daily chores. All cows need to be cared for, rare ones like her, care for you in return🐮 We also confirmed her to be calving around July 4th with her second calf & I cannot wait to see her happy with another baby to cherish🥰

Howdy Friends!
I knew y’all were wild about our ribeyes, but I didn’t realize the minute steaks were so sought after! I’ll take notes on that one for next time!
Updated freezer menu!
I was taken aback at the nearly instant responses to the posting yesterday & it feels incredible to know so many folks trust & love our product & continue to support my small herd of misfit beef cattle!
If you’re looking for a substitute for the minute steaks the flat iron steaks are another great cut that is in similar fashion to the beloved minute steak! Also I finally timed a steer right to have kabobs for grilling season! Don’t miss out on a dinner made easy!

Howdy Friends!
The time has come; we are officially stocked for grilling season! I do not have another steer that will be ready until this winter approximately so please please please; DO NOT SLEEP ON ORDERING BEEF!!
For any new friends who haven’t been with us for a beef restock I’ll explain the menu quickly; the number in parentheses next to each cut indicates how many packages of that cut are currently available, not the weight of the cut. It is important to note the only product i get back that is exactly 1 lb is the ground beef.
I do have spots open for halves & quarters if you want to buy in bulk & get the savings, please reach out to me directly about prices for bulk!
I also ask that you all please bare with me in responding to all your orders, it’s often forgotten that while I am a freezer beef producer; I also play a large roll in running a dairy farm in addition to caring for these stellar animals I bring to your freezers, I’m one girl trying to make everyone’s beef dreams happen & still find time to care for myself & each & every critter in my care. I promise to be as responsive as possible but grant me grace if it takes me a day to get back to you!
What beautiful timing though, let’s kick off Memorial Day weekend with everyone’s favorite locally raised beef on the grill!

Howdy friends!
MF Special-T is swinging by to remind you all that May is National Beef Month!
Many people ask the question; what determines whether a cow is a milk cow or a beef cow?
The answer is simpler than you may think!
It is typically determined by their breed, there are breeds that produce a higher volume of milk such as your Holstein, Jersey or Brown Swiss, making them some of your major dairy breeds. Other breeds such as Angus, Hereford or Charolais carry greater muscling & carcass traits when compared to their dairy counterparts. Yes, you can milk a beef cow, yes you can beef a milk cow, some breeds like the Milking Shorthorn are considered dual purpose cattle meaning they are just as good at milking as they are producing a quality carcass.
I’ll try to share little beef facts with you throughout beef month to remind you why supporting your local beef producers is important❤️🐮💪🏻

I apologize again for the lack of posting, it has been a busy couple of weeks over here!
Between scheduling pregnancy checks for a couple of our girls, sending another excellent steer to the butcher for you fine folks & purchasing a new member of the herd, things have gotten away from me in my scatter brain🙃
So along with a picture of our darling little new boy, is the long awaited, very limited freezer beef menu! I should get my next one back in the next 2 weeks so watch out for another posting! I do have halves and quarters available on this round if you’re interested, please reach out!

Howdy Friends!
Just a fun post about my boy ✨Steven✨
I’ve often raved about the milking shorthorn breeders I buy my precious red boys from; but here i am agaaaaaaain🙃
My business has always been based around steers that may not be considered traditional beef feeders but they plate like beef steers
All. Day. Long.
It’s really a matter of knowing what I’m working with and repeating programs that have consistently been successful for me. There’s a good chance I’m one of the only small beef producers around feeding individual animals rations based on their specific needs, at their specific stage of production.
Every animal’s program is unique to them and although I use the same ingredients in their feed, no two animals go through the exact same feed program, even when I’ve fed out full brothers both beef or dairy/dual purpose.
Steven is one of the most handsome patterned steers I’ve bought & when he stood all extended & I saw that straight, strong topline I said “You know, even I’m a little frustrated you weren’t born with different plumbing”🥲 the silver lining of raising these incredibly correct steers, is that I can offer a view to the breeders as to what that breeding can grow up to be & perhaps influence his dam’s next breeding.🐮❤️

A reminder to all our farmer friends that I do lease out this very handsome, very well behaved, incredibly proven crossbred bull in a golden boy package year round!
