BBQ TEAMS!!

The Camp Harkness Beachside BBQ Showdown is in need of you!! This contest isn’t your average! On Saturday, the Nation’s only Unified BBQ contest where you are paired with a person with disabilities. You will never experience something so rewarding and amazing!

I was paired with a gentleman I graduated high school with and Special Olympic Ambassador. We are so excited he has asked us to pair again, we consider him part of the Broke Chair Team!

Our last cook at Kora Kares for Kids and the gasket went on our Humphrey's BBQ Pint on Sunday. Jillian sent me an invoice Monday so I wouldn’t forget and it arrived the next day. Maintenance completed and ready to go.

All registered, next up Camp Harkness Comp in September! This is a special event, in Connecticut where teams are paired with Individuals with disabilities. We will be competing again this year with a gentleman from my hometown who is a Special Olympic ambassador, classmate of my graduating class in high school, and among other things an amazing guy! BBQ teams this is a MUST do competition!

Amazing day at Kora Kares for Kids in Hiram, Maine. We competed in KCBS Master’s 4 meat, and did ok. We competed in the 12 Team Shoot Out 4 Meat Competition for VIP judges and took home 12 Team Champion!!

It’s Competition Week! All the proteins are trimmed and the trailer is packed! We are excited to compete in Hiram, Maine at the Kora Ride-In & BBQ Competition raising money for Shriner’s Hospitals. We are competing in Kids Q, People’s Choice, KCBS four meat, and the World Famous Humphrey's BBQ Rib Auction!

We're excited to announce a brand-new competition happening alongside our KCBS BBQ Contest!

🔥 The Kora Kare for Kids 12-Team Shootout 🔥

Twelve competition BBQ teams will have the opportunity to submit an additional turn-in box that will be judged by 12 VIP public and sponsor judges who have paid to be part of this unique experience. These judges will receive the exact same championship-caliber BBQ being presented to the KCBS Certified BBQ Judges!

How it works:
✅ 12 teams will be selected to participate.
✅ Turn-in boxes will be provided.
✅ Teams may use KCBS-approved garnish or CBA-style aluminum foil.
✅ Entries will be judged using a separate scoring system.
✅ Scores will not affect the official KCBS contest.

🥇 The Grand Champion of the 12-Team Shootout will receive a custom Humphrey's BBQ Trophy, with the winner announced during the official KCBS Awards Ceremony!

❤️ Best of all, all proceeds from the judges' participation go directly to Shriners Hospitals for Children, helping provide life-changing care to children regardless of a family's ability to pay.

This is a great opportunity for the public and our sponsors to experience championship BBQ while making a real difference for an incredible cause.

When life hands you lemons, you fire uo the Humphrey's BBQ! Our freezer went and we were able to save 2 briskets, 2 Boston butts, 2 Turkeys, & 2 racks of beef back ribs! All came out great!
