I get to pretend I’m still living in the ’90s, and now y’all need to do the same so we can call each other all day. 😅☎️

It’s SO simple to set up, has a low upfront cost, and comes with NO monthly fees or subscriptions. Just two items, and you’re ready to bring the home phone back! don’t get me started on how we’re headed straight toward The Lorax. We’ll be subscribing to air and paying for sunshine before we know it. 🙄

there’s something really nice about having a home phone again. It gives you a reason to step away from your cell phone without feeling like you have to give up being reachable. A 24-hour update for the few of you who were curious. 🥸

(Also, who wants a video on how to do this in your own home?!)

A few things we’ve already noticed? We knew we had a doomscrolling problem, and as parents, we knew we wanted to make a change and set a better example for our kids. But I don’t think I realized just how deeply our phones had become a part of everything.

One of the biggest things I’m noticing is how normal it’s become to have constant access to other people. To be able to reach someone at any given moment and, in turn, feel like we should always be available to respond. I’m starting to recognize the role I’ve played in that, too, and how exhausting that expectation can be for everyone involved.

It’s not about making anyone feel bad for texting or wanting to stay connected. It’s about realizing how much we’ve come to expect from one another without even thinking about it.

And honestly? Not having immediate access to every little piece of information in the world is a little harder to let go of than I expected. 🤣

Some of these things sound like common sense when I say them out loud, but that’s kind of the point. They’ve become so normal in our everyday lives that I don’t think we stop to question them.

We’re only 24 hours in, but I’m already realizing this is about a lot more than just putting our phones down.
