This is something of recent discussion around our place. We love helping kids and teaching them how to best present their projects. And that looks different for every child and every animal. Bottom line: if you want to be successful, you have to be a sponge and be willing to take advice. When you open your mind, the whole process becomes a lot more enjoyable.

Results are as follows:
Lot 396- 1st place class 4 cross ewes
Lot 398 - 5th place class 13 cross wethers
Lot 397 - 7th place class 23 cross wethers
Lot 399 - 3rd place class 26 Dorset ewes
Lot 401 - 3rd place class 29 Dorset wethers
Lot 400 - 6th place class 31 speckle ewes
They cross the block tomorrow morning at 9:30am!

Last but certainly not least is this groovy Dorset wether. He was a last minute addition to the set, when I peeled him off and realized there’s a real sheep under all that wool! Believe it or not he was raised on a bottle with his twin sister, and despite their mom’s questionable milking ability, they earned her another year on the farm. This dude has pieces that most Dorsets can only dream of having, grooved up rack, big square loin, massive hip and leg, and fantastic touch. He’s gonna run in the whiteface division all summer and fall. Come see him in Chickasha this weekend!

Not to be outdone by her half sister, this neat speck ewe is ready to make her mark in Oklahoma this weekend. She’s young and green, but anyone with eyes can see the quality in her. She’s big backed and shapely, massive hipped and has pipes for legs. Not to mention, she’s pretty dang cute! If the young man who showed her momma was showing lambs this year, this girl would not be leaving. Come see her in Chickasha this weekend!

Here she is! The lady of the hour. I don’t think we’ve ever offered a Dorset female of this caliber for sale. Period. If you’ve followed our program, we’ve made some pretty salty Dorsets over the years and this one I have a feeling could be the best. Why sell her? We wanted to offer our best this year. A few years ago we sold a ewe to Brian Fairley that went on to have a successful show career including grand Dorset ewe at Aksarben. I’ll be so bold as to say this girl is better. Look in here. Find her this weekend in Chickasha!
