When the newest flock members approach on their own… you let them steal your shoes.

Does anyone else have birds who wait for their favorite visitors?

These two adult drakes live separately from the flock because they don’t get around quite as well. Their pen is attached to our main run, sharing a fence with everyone.

Every day, the baby Muscovies come to visit their uncles. ❤️

What used to be a nuisance for these poor old boys has somehow become the highlight of their day. Now, if the babies don’t come visit, they sit by the hole in the fence and wait for them. 🥺

They may not be able to keep up with the flock anymore, but they’ve definitely gained a very important job.

Since our poor Sage is running into the fence constantly, we got some reflectors to help guide her around the pen.
Earlier this year we experimented with some brightly colored laminated paper and it worked out great! It’s just taken a bit of time to find things the geese won’t eat or rip a part 😅😂
