So fun!! Honored to be a part of the Coos County narrative!
BURGER BOY JON HAS NOW OFFICIALLY ENTERED COOS COUNTY BURGER POLITICS
Burger Boy Jon has been roaming Oregon eating burgers, handing out scores, and somehow turning ground beef into a spectator sport.
Then he started reviewing burgers in Coos County.
He hit Yeong’s Place in North Bend and gave it his highest score yet, which is great news for Yeong’s and terrible news for anybody hoping the comments would stay normal.
Because the second somebody ranks a burger around here, every guy who ate one drunk in 1997 suddenly becomes a culinary historian.
“Yeah, Yeong’s is good, but back when Dale owned that little place by the mill…”
Nobody asked, Randy.
Jon has also hit Arcade Tavern in Bandon, which is a perfect Coos County establishment because it says “Arcade” on the building and contains roughly the same number of video games as Les Schwab.
The name predates Pac-Man, so technically the video-game industry owes Bandon an apology.
And we’ve gotta give Jon credit. He actually breaks the burger down — bun, meat, toppings, the whole deal — but without acting like the pickle was hand-selected by monks or the onions spent six weeks studying abroad.
He eats the burger, tells you what worked, gives it a number, and moves on.
No Food Network wind machine. No dramatic pause over the aioli. It’s a cheeseburger, not a custody hearing.
Jon understands the assignment.
So welcome to Coos County, Jon. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Just be warned: every burger recommendation you get from here on out will involve somebody’s uncle, a tavern that burned down, a cook who died 14 years ago, and the phrase:
“It used to be way better.”
DISCLAIMER: Burger Boy Jon is real. Yeong’s is real. Arcade Tavern is real. The burger arguments that follow will almost certainly outlive all of us.
And go give Burger Boy Jon a follow. The man is out there doing important work so the rest of us don’t have to personally eat every cheeseburger in Oregon.
Follow him here: https://www.facebook.com/share/1EkQ1gV9Ni/
Give his page a follow, share his stuff, and help send a little Coos County traffic his way. He earned it.
ONE MORE THING: Jon didn’t ask for this endorsement, pay for it, bribe us with burgers, or even know we were going to write it. We just like what the guy’s doing. No secret burger lobby. No paid beef agenda. Just a dude eating burgers and doing it right.
