PATCHWORK POTATO PIZZA 😋 Mr. Patchwork made the crust and I plopped on the toppings… boiled red potatoes, sweet onions, portobello mushrooms, crushed thyme, and minced garlic. Half of it got goat cheese and the other half got Parmesan. Mr Patchwork baked it at 500° for 12 minutes and then topped it off with freshly ground black pepper. Perfection!

About four months ago I took this photo of a "still life" I put together using a teapot from my kitchen, a flower from my garden, and a scrap of fabric from my craft room. I had forgotten about this photo… until today when I was [aimlessly] scrolling through my camera roll.

When I saw it, I stopped the scroll.

I needed to stop… and focus my eyes on God. My perspective needed readjusting in order to remember that HE is my refuge and strength, not the human institutions, governments, and gods of this earth.

He says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; He lifts his voice, the earth melts. The LORD Almighty is with us, the God of Jacob is our fortress. (Psalm 46)

End Note: God knows how to take the simple everyday objects of my ordinary life (teapots, flowers, and fabric scraps) and use them to get my focus back on Him. His ways are always perfect and His timing is always perfect.

If we store up good things in our hearts, our words and actions will be good. “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.”

My Prayer: I’m troubled by the mean, nasty, and vile things that come out of people’s “mouths” on social media… and after reading Jesus’ words (specifically Luke 6:43-45), I realize we need Jesus more than ever to dwell in our hearts, so that what comes out of our mouths will bring glory to HIM and advance HIS kingdom… not the kingdoms of this earth. Can we pray collectively for this?

🤎 The true sign of belonging to God is the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit within the physical body— that is what the Apostle Paul meant by “circumcision of the heart.”

A circumcised heart doesn’t seek praise from other people… but instead seeks the glory of God.

🤎 Jesus asked this question of those who tried to suppress Him: “How can you believe… since you accept glory from one another but do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?” (John 5:44)

🐾 Winnie visited Patchwork Flower Farm this evening. Lucky me got to “babysit” my new friend while her family was busy posing for pictures in my garden. (Some poses included Winnie.)

🦋😊🦋 Meet Mr. Patchwork’s brother Randy, his wife Teresa, their daughter Amie, her husband Brian, their daughter Shiloh, and Gatsby the dog.

Mr. Patchwork’s family had their annual Regester Reunion this past weekend. They gathered from here and there and everywhere for a good time in the Ozarks.

Of course, a few family photos were snapped while hanging out in my patchwork flower garden.
