Something worth knowing about imported beef:

In March of this year, China rejected a 22-ton shipment of Argentine beef after detecting chloramphenicol, a prohibited antibiotic. Argentina disputed the finding and investigated it as a possible false positive or contamination issue.

To be clear, this does NOT mean all Argentine beef is contaminated. But it does raise a legitimate question:

If China is willing to reject a shipment of beef over antibiotic concerns, why are we increasing imports of Argentine beef into the U.S.?
