π Do You Know What Those Dates Really Mean? π
Have you ever looked at a date on a package and immediately thought, βWelpβ¦time to throw it away!β? πββοΈ I know I have!
But not every date means your food has expired. Knowing the difference can help us waste less food AND save money! π°π
β€οΈ USE BY β Pay attention to this one! It may be related to food safety.
π BEST IF USED BY β This is generally about quality, not safety. After this date, the flavor, texture, or freshness may start to decline.
π€ SELL BY β This one is mainly for the store to help manage inventory. It doesn't automatically mean the food is bad after that date.
Before tossing something, consider the date, how it was stored, and whether there are signs of spoilage. Sometimes that food still has life left in it! π
β¨ Less waste = more money staying in your grocery budget!
Did you already know the difference between these dates, or have you been throwing things away as soon as the date passes? ππ»
