There are quite a few new faces around here, so I figured it was time to reintroduce myself. 👋🏻
I’m Hillary! I’m the baker, decorator, designer, dishwasher and professional overthinker behind Hillary’s Sweet Treats.
Baking and I go WAY back. I grew up baking with my grandma… sometimes with her knowledge and sometimes without. 😬 I also loved going to my Aunt Judy’s and “helping” her decorate cakes. She’s actually the inspiration behind my logo! I don’t even sell cupcakes, but there’s one in my logo as a little nod to her and where my love for decorating started. 🧁
I started playing around with decorated cookies in 2020, just for fun. Then military life did what military life does and moved us, so the cookie cutters got packed away for a while. After our final Navy move back home to Missouri, my friend Brittany placed my first MO cookie order and gave me the push to go for it… so I did! …. and Hillary’s Sweet Treats was born. 🍪
As for the Hillary behind the cookies… I’ve been married to Huston for 24 years, we have one daughter, Aubree, and our Goldendoodle, Rosie. Those three are my whole world, and Huston and Aubree are absolutely my biggest supporters. Huston sees the never-ending Amazon deliveries and wisely asks no questions. 😂 Aubree cheers me on after every set and has cleaned more baking pans, mats and mixing bowls than I could ever count. Just this week she reorganized my entire food-coloring drawer because she thought it needed it. Seriously, how did I get so lucky?
I’m a COTA one day a week at a pediatric clinic and run our construction business full time, because apparently I thrive on having 47 things going at once and never sleeping. I love a good DIY project, reading, Mexican food and a margarita, have a slight tennis-shoe problem, run on Diet Coke, and love Dolly Parton enough that naturally my mixer is named after her. 🦋
If there’s one thing I want Hillary’s Sweet Treats to always be about beyond pretty cookies, it’s giving back. Being able to help a family going through a hard time, support a fundraiser or local cause, or simply show up for someone when I can is easily one of my favorite parts of having this business.
I don’t need to be the biggest bakery in town.. I stay plenty busy anyway. For me, it’s about getting to do something I love, be a small part of your celebrations and use this business to do a little good along the way. That means more to me than being the biggest ever could.
To sum it up, I’m still that girl that loved sneaking around Grandma’s kitchen and helping Aunt Judy decorate cakes…
I just have my own business now, an amazing little family cheering me on, and an entire fridge full of icing that I can eat for breakfast without asking anyone’s permission. 😂
If you’re new here, hi! I’m Hillary. I’m glad you found me. Tell your family! Tell your friends! 🤍🍪
⭐️⭐️ dogs aren’t allowed on the beach but I couldn’t leave out my baby with the introduction!
