THIS is why we do what we do. 🐔

With the new Big Chicken documentary on Netflix bringing attention to the chicken industry, we thought it was a good time to share a little bit about why we raise our own.

We actually started raising and processing chickens years ago, long before we ever thought about selling them. It started simply because we wanted to know where our food came from and provide good chicken for ourselves and our family.

Over the years, as we watched the quality and choices available in grocery stores change, we started thinking—why keep this only for ourselves?

If this is something we value for our own family, maybe other families in our community would value it too.

So we decided to make our chickens available to the public.

We raise them right here on our farm and process them ourselves—the same way we did when they were only going into our own freezers and feeding our own families. We know where they came from, how they were raised, and how they were handled from beginning to end.

We’re not a huge operation, and we don’t want to be. We raise a limited number of chickens at a time, and we put the same care into the ones we sell to our community as we do the ones we keep for ourselves.

For us, it’s about knowing where your food comes from, supporting local agriculture, and giving families in our community another option.

That’s why we do what we do. ❤️🐔

We are back at the Farmers Market of Madawaska, Maine this may be our last market of the year but don’t worry because we will still be selling at 10 packing shed road!

We are at the market until 1!
