One of my all-time favorite things to do is progressive dining - getting to try a course or two at several different restaurants is so much fun! So when my friend told me about North Highland Restaurant Week, I immediately went to look at the menus to craft the best possible food crawl.
We started the evening at , where we were left underwhelmed. Our server was great, the shrimp tempura was ok, but the was not made in house and was tough and pretty flavorless. Things continued to go downhill with the dry "stuffed pancake" dessert. My friend loves this place, and the Highland Harvest cocktail was tasty, so I'll give them another try at a later date.
Next up, ! I loved the mule and the to-die-for Chicory & Apple salad! The loin part of the choppa was a little tough and dry, but the fatty part was unctuous and we both agreed that we wanted an entire vat of the polenta.
We walked across the street to .atl, where we planned to get a and some , but the bartender refused to acknowledge us sitting at the bar, so eventually we got up and left.
Our last stop was .atlanta, where our bartender, Stephanie, helped us end the crawl on a high note. Even though they had run out of the piquillos and lamb belly that we had hoped to try, we still enjoyed our Sultan’s Mules and nibbling on the mezze platter. I didn't love their pita, but the labneh, baba ganoush, hummus and pickles were excellent.
