Honeybees commonly forage within 1–3 miles of their hive, but when resources are scarce, they can travel 5 miles or more searching for nectar, pollen, water, and propolis.

Here at Neemah’s City Apiary, that means my girls can potentially make their way from their North St. Louis hives toward the Gateway Arch and Mississippi River—about 2 miles away! 🤯🐝

Just think about it: every jar of local honey can represent thousands of flowers across miles of our city. That’s one of the things I love most about urban beekeeping. Our bees connect neighborhoods, gardens, parks, trees, wildflowers, and communities one flight at a time.
