We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve continued our partnership with the Missouri Botanical Garden and have created a third amazing New World Gin in celebration of Shaw Nature Reserve’s centennial anniversary.
This collaborative New World Gin merges classic juniper and coriander with orris root, bergamot orange, lemon balm and peel, lime peel, clover and elderflower. Offering a complex yet balanced profile with bright citrus notes and bold floral characters, this spirit is perfect for enjoying neat or in your favorite cocktail.
“Shaw Nature Reserve rejuvenates visitors with immersion in the diverse beauty of expansive natural habitats. We are delighted to collaborate with 1220 Spirits on this distinctively floral gin as we celebrate the Nature Reserve’s centennial throughout 2025,” says Dr. Quinn Long, Director of Shaw Nature Reserve. “We’re excited about this continued collaboration with 1220 Spirits, a local craft distillery, to discover and share new ways to appreciate the native plants of our region.”
In reflecting on collaborating with a regional leader in ecological restoration, native plant horticulture and environmental education, Andy Burgio, 4 Hands Brewing Company and 1220 Spirits’ director of innovation, said, “Working with Dr. Long and the team from the Missouri Botanical Garden and Shaw Nature Reserve is amazing. The amount of thought that goes into researching and selecting the featured botanicals to craft a unique gin each time is both challenging and rewarding. We’re all excited for our fans to experience this spirit.”
“The Missouri Botanical Garden is one of the most precious institutions in the region and we’re honored to be a continuing collaborative partner,” said Kevin Lemp, founder of 4 Hands Brewing Company and 1220 Spirits. “Being able to work with such an important stakeholder and cheerleader for St. Louis is thrilling! We’re grateful for the opportunity to create together.”
Missouri Botanical Garden Gin is now available at all three 4 Hands Brewing Company tasting room locations: the 4 Hands Brewery & Tasting Room, 4 Hands at The District and 4 Hands + Peacemaker Kirkwood.
