Havenvale Farms

Havenvale Farms 5th generation farmHer and family. Est. 1898. Franklin County, Missouri. The dirt that we are so passionate about was brought into our family over 100 years ago.

We live in the original “farmstead” that was built in 1917. There is so much going on all the time. A beef production operation. Traditional row crops. Hay crops. Laying hens. Vegetable production and canning or freezing each summer to last us a year, a few fruits in the same manner. Butchering hogs, chickens, large and small game. Creating as many “one-mile meals” as we possibly can. Growing gard

en plants from seed in the nursery room. Jellies and relish and breads, oh my! Currently, the popular word to describe how we live is Homesteaders. I’m not overly sold on that. This is our lifestyle, not a new trend. It’s a lifestyle that we hope to successfully pass on to the 6th generation, just like my parents and grandparents did for me. I hear a lot of the following:
“You do a lot of crazy stuff.”
“How do you get it all done?”
“When do you sleep?”
“Can you teach me how to...?”
“Can I have the recipe for...?”

Experience farm life with us. Follow our journey as we work hard to keep it all going while teaching the 6th generation as we go, and maybe you, too, can learn something along the way, sample our goods and produce at our seasonal drive-up market, or just enjoy the scenery and the crazy things we do.
