This past fall we got a few sheep in order to expand the diversity of the farm and have them eat the weeds that grow to reduce chemical applications. This past week we started our first lambing which has been interesting to say the least, and a big learning curve. We still have a few more ewes to lamb before we turn them out of the barn. We will have lamb available this winter or early next spring if you are interested reach out! We likely won’t have individual cuts of them, you would buy the entire lamb to have processed. There will be limited availability given our small flock!

Our laying hens have started laying eggs and we are overwhelmed with them. Let us know how many you’d want. Selling for $4/dozen! Would meet you locally to the farm, but we won’t be delivering these like our meat products. However, you can add eggs on to our meat box products which do get delivery for the price of the dozen.

After 5+ years of Wyatt doing research and studying the benefits sheep can bring to our operation, today’s the day they arrived. We now have 10 ewes and 1 ram. If all goes accordingly they are going to integrate into one of our cow herds, but that is still yet to be determined. Also if all goes well we will have some lamb available in about 1 year. If interested in this a one of your protein sources shoot us an email or send a message. We plan to keep the herd small so there will be limited availability of lamb unless demand increases. Stay tuned for our newest adventure!

Today the first batch of chickens arrived to the farm for the year. We are also starting a new adventure and honey bees will arriving tomorrow. A lot of hustle and bustle is in the air on the farm right now!

Update….bees arrived today as well! Stay tuned for adventures on anaphylaxis and honey.

We still have 1 male border collie left! He is spunky, already responding to come, and is eager to chase brooms while learning “come by” and “away from me”. He is out of 2 working dogs, one of which is easily the best border collie we have ever had. He has the drive and determination that his mother had. He is going to be a great working dog. We have 2 male border collies for sale. They have their first round of vaccines and are 7 weeks old. Their parents are both working dogs, and they so far are both showing all the signs of being great herders. Their parents are full blood border collies with papers. They have not been kenneled their entire lives, and have had plenty of interaction with people. You can call Lee Eikermann for more details at 314-650-4569. They are located in Bourbon, MO and we would prefer they go to a farm that will put them to work.
