Our purebred Gelbvieh consignment for the Black Hills Stock Show and Sale February 2 in Rapid City, SD. Sells as Lot 16. He weaned off at 790 from a first calf heifer. We are excited to see what his offspring will bring.

While we are thankful for the moisture, this is tough. Our herd is wintered at my parent’s ranch along with their cattle and my sister’s and brother-in-law’s herd. It takes a village and we are sure blessed we can do this beside family. We have been working around the clock to prepare and now care for the animals. The barns are full with newly born babies and so the 5 + day old calves need to stay outside but have a load of shelter that we hope they continue to use.

Everyone is exhausted and our bodies are beat down, but we all continue to keep plugging away.

The other day, my college friend posted a devotion that showed up the day before the blizzard. It couldn’t have been more fitting. God knows what he is doing. We continue to look to Him for guidance, strength and protection. 🙏

Tonight the wind is just awful and even though it looks like we will get a day break from snow, the wind will blow and projected more snow over the weekend. This is far from over.

This elite bred was purchased from Larson’s Lost River Livestock at the ND Golden Rule Sale and she dropped a gorgeous purebred Frontrunner daughter. We anticipate big things from this duo!
