Midweek gratitude 🐴🤎

Feeling especially grateful tonight that we’re able to give horses a second chance. There’s nothing quite like watching a horse come in needing love, patience, and care—and slowly watching them become healthy, happy, & regaining trust in humans again.

Whether their journey leads them to a loving new forever home or gives them a safe place to live out their golden years here with us, I’m thankful to be a small part of their story. ❤️

Every horse deserves to feel safe, loved, & cared for.

Happy Friday friends,

We’re still in search of hay for the winter here at the rescue. We know everyone is struggling with finding hay especially with Virginia being in a state of emergency for the hay shortage. If our followers could drop contact info below for local hay suppliers we greatly appreciate it🐴💙

As always we’re still accepting monetary donations towards hay as well. We appreciate everyone’s love and support as we continue to carry out our mission of helping these sweet babies get a second chance at life!

Good morning friends,

We are looking for a reputable farrier to come to the farm here in Stephens City, Va to help with routine trims for our 5 horses & 1 donkey that we currently have. Our horses are barefoot and don’t wear shoes since they’re all retired. Our current farrier has had an increase in clientele & doesn’t have the same availability she used to. Feel free to drop your suggestions below or tag them so we can get in contact with them 😊🐴

Perfect ending to a busy day for us. One of our 8 month old sweet Kune Kune crosses “Muffins” made his way to his new forever home! He did so good during transport and was so excited to meet his new piggie friend and donkeys that he will be with 🐷 This what rescue work is all about! ❤️ We hope everyone has a great weekend & reminder we still have a few more Kune Kune crosses looking for their forever homes 😊

Colder weather will be here before we know it so we’re attempting to stay ahead of the game. We’re looking for square or round bales of hay to go ahead & purchase to store in our barn until it’s needed. If you know of anyone selling hay or would like to donate to our rescue please send them our way 💙 we appreciate the continued love & support for our farm & rescue 🐴

Sharing again to see if anyone else would like to donate. These 3 rescues have made such an improvement since their intake back at the end of June. Exciting evening here on the farm, our sweet Kune Kune Bingo (AKA: Big Mama) gave birth so far to 7 piglets, 1 unfortunately didn’t make it but she’s still in labor, we’re excited to see what the final number will be ❤️

The progress these sweet rescues have made in 45 short days is absolutely remarkable ❤️ This is what makes it all worth it, we appreciate the continued support from the community and are still accepting monetary donations as well as donations of feed & needed horse supplies. Update on Spot the 20ish year old Red Paint Gelding.

Spot is one of the rescues we took in June 2026 from a seizure case. He originally tested positive for Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis but has completed his medication for that. He has also been diagnosed with Ringbone & has medication to help manage the discomfort. He’s managed to put on some weight as well and also had his teeth floated and hooves trimmed 😊 Spot is an old soul but enjoys being in the pasture with the other horses or being in the barn in front of the fans. He enjoys all the treats and all the lovings from us here on the farm ❤️ Gentle and easy going best describe Spot.

He will be available for adoption at the end of August to find his forever home to live out his golden years 😊

Happy 4th of July 🎆🐎from all of us here at Frostbite Acres Farm & Rescue.

The rescue horses that we took in last Sunday are doing well so far & getting used to always having access to fresh water, feed, and green pasture. 💙

We’re so grateful for the donations we’ve received from the mail in checks, GoFundMe, and the Venmo/Zelle. We wouldn’t be able to do this without y’all! The GoFundMe is still active & for anyone that wanted to donate items & not money. We can still use the following.
