Mark came around the corner and almost stepped in Fancy Pants.

“What’s wrong with this chicken?!?” He cried in distress.

“Is it okay? Is it dying? »

No honey, just sunbathing.

These are the Weasleys. They went broody at the same time and insist on sharing a nesting box.

The whole time they are together they snipe at each other.

Today, I forced them to go outside for some air. They went and, although they have almost a quarter acre to explore, insist on staying within a foot of each other. Sniping the whole time.

This is Gouverner Morris. He is an almost 1 year old Isabelle Ameraucana roo. He is sterile, so we are not egg-specting babies but he is so friendly and good at taking care of his ladies.

We have finished our honey harvest! 8oz honey bear $10.

When people ask me what I feed my chickens, I answer corn, grains, seed, worms, spaghetti, Caesar salad. See, they finish our leftovers the little omnivores.

I think that might be the secret to Cedar Green’s delicious eggs.

Today we are getting a new roof so the ladies and I have been outside most of the day.

They have been lounging in the sun and taking dust baths.

My favorite part though is when they go into the nesting boxes to lay an egg. They come out calling out in chicken “I laid an egg! I laid an egg” and the closest hens to her reply “You laid an egg! You laid an egg!”
