Jared lost less than ONE pound this month. If that was all you knew, you might think his program wasn’t working.

You’d be very wrong.

Jared’s latest InBody analysis showed:

⚖️ Body weight: -0.7 lb
🔥 Body fat mass: -4.6 lbs
💪 Skeletal muscle: +3.8 lbs
📉 Body fat percentage: -2.7%

That is an outstanding month.

And there’s a lesson here that could save somebody from making a bad fitness decision:

Body weight tells you how much you weigh. It does not tell you what that weight is made of.

If Jared had judged his progress by the bathroom scale alone, he might have been frustrated enough to change a plan that was actually producing exactly the kind of change most people want—less fat and more muscle.

That’s why we use InBody body composition analysis at Max Muscle Sports Nutrition – Stone Mountain.

We don’t just hand you a printout. We help you understand what changed, why it matters, and what your next move should be with your nutrition, training, recovery, and supplementation.

If you’ve been putting in the work but wondering, “Is this actually working?” come find out.

If I Had 8 Weeks, I’d Track This

The Scale Isn’t the Goal

If you could improve one number on your InBody scan over the next 8 weeks, what would you choose?

For me, it would be body fat percentage.

And yes, sometimes the reason is health.

Sometimes it’s also a lot simpler than that.

You want your waist tighter. You want more definition. You want your shoulders, chest, arms, and back to actually look like you train.

Maybe there’s a shirt hanging in the back of your closet that hasn’t fit since college—and you’d like to settle that argument once and for all.

Nothing wrong with that.

I recently designed an 8-week program for a client who had a college reunion coming up. He wasn’t trying to become the lightest guy at the reunion.

He wanted to look noticeably better when he walked into the room.

That changes how I approach the goal.

I wouldn’t just throw him into a huge calorie deficit and pile on cardio.

The plan was body recomposition: reduce body fat while giving his muscle every reason to stick around.

For the first four weeks, we built the foundation—better movement, productive training volume, progressive resistance, and improved conditioning.

Then we turned up the challenge in Weeks 5–8. More progression. More intensity where appropriate. Hypertrophy work aimed at building the upper chest, shoulders, lats, and lower body. Conditioning that supported the fat-loss goal without turning every workout into a cardio contest.

Nutrition had to support it too: an appropriate calorie deficit, enough protein, hydration, and recovery.

Then we measure again.

Because here’s the part I want people to remember:

Losing weight and improving your physique are not automatically the same thing.

If the scale drops but you give up too much muscle along the way, I’m not calling that the best possible result.

Give me less body fat, preserved muscle, better definition, and a body that looks more athletic—even if the bathroom scale doesn’t give you the dramatic number you expected.

Don’t just chase lighter. Chase leaner.

If you’re in Stone Mountain and you don’t know what your starting numbers are, come see us at Max Muscle Sports Nutrition – Stone Mountain. Start with an InBody scan. We’ll help you understand what the numbers mean and what your next move should be.

Your turn: If you had 8 weeks to change one InBody number, which one are you attacking?

Hey Max Muscle Family,

If you are using a GLP-1—or even thinking about one—do not wait until the scale starts moving to think about muscle.

Weight loss is not automatically body improvement. The scale can drop while strength, protein intake, hydration, and muscle retention quietly fall behind.

In today’s blog, I break down what you need to know before the weight comes off: protein anchors, strength training, InBody tracking, hydration, and how to protect the muscle that gives your body shape and strength.

If GLP-1 is part of your conversation, make sure muscle retention is part of the plan.

Come see us at Max Muscle Sports Nutrition – Stone Mountain and let’s build the foundation around your goal.

Chike Lost 12.8 Pounds. But That's Not the Best Part. 👀

Most people celebrate when the number on the scale goes down.

We celebrate what made it go down.

Over the past two months, Chike has done something many people struggle to accomplish.

🔥 17.0 pounds of body fat — LOST

💪 2.2 pounds of skeletal muscle — GAINED

📉 Body fat percentage — DOWN 4.6%

⚖️ Total body weight — DOWN 12.8 pounds

That's what we call body recomposition.

Think about that for a second...

While the scale became lighter, Chike actually built muscle at the same time.

That's why we don't judge progress by one number.

We look at the whole picture.

At Max Muscle Sports Nutrition – Stone Mountain, we use InBody Body Composition Analysis because it tells us what the bathroom scale never can.

✔ Are you losing body fat?

✔ Are you maintaining muscle?

✔ Is your nutrition strategy working?

✔ Do you need to make adjustments?

Those answers matter.

Because better information leads to better decisions.

And better decisions lead to better results.

Congratulations, Chike! 👏

Your consistency is paying off, and we're excited to see what's next.

If you've been putting in the work but aren't sure what your body is actually doing, stop by and let's find out.

We'll review your numbers together and help you build the smartest plan for your goals.

Your Biggest Diet Mistake Isn't What You Think.

Most people think they lose progress because they don't have enough willpower.

I don't buy that.

After coaching people for years, I've noticed something different.

The people who stay consistent don't make better decisions because they're more disciplined.

They make better decisions because they planned for the difficult moments before they happened.

Think about yesterday.

Did you know what you were going to eat before you got hungry?

Did you have a plan when cravings showed up?

Did you have healthy options available, or did convenience win?

That's the difference.

Successful people don't rely on motivation.

They build systems.

At Max Muscle, that's exactly what we help people do.

Whether it's nutrition coaching, an InBody analysis, or building the right supplement stack, our goal isn't to sell you another product.

Our goal is to make healthy choices easier to repeat.

It's Probably Not a Lack of Willpower...

Ever notice how cravings seem to show up at the exact wrong time?

Not when you're fully focused.

Not right after you've planned your meals.

They usually hit when:

✔ You're stressed.

✔ You're tired.

✔ You've gone too long without eating.

✔ Your energy crashes.

That isn't weakness.

That's reality.

The mistake most people make is expecting willpower to carry them through every one of those moments.

Instead, build a system that helps you make better decisions before cravings take over.

At Max Muscle, we coach people to prepare for those moments—not just react to them.

That's one reason so many of our clients are more successful this time than all the previous times they tried.

My Most Reliable Training Partner

When motivation dips, what’s the one habit that keeps me moving?

For me, it’s rap music.

I walked into the gym recently, reached for my earbuds—and realized I had left them at home. For a brief moment, going back to the car sounded more reasonable than training in silence.

I stayed. But I will admit it: every weight felt about ten pounds heavier without a soundtrack.

Music does not perform the workout for you. It does something almost as important—it helps you shift gears. The right song narrows your focus, raises your energy, and gives your brain a clear signal:

We’re here now. It’s time to work.

That is why my playlist is not background noise. It is part of my routine. Once the beat hits, outside distractions get quieter, the first set feels closer, and the version of me that came in tired starts remembering what he can do.

For me, ’90s hip-hop gets the job done. Not because it magically adds strength, but because it changes the conversation in my head from:

“I’m not feeling it today.”

to:

“Let’s see what we’ve got.”

That shift matters.

Your non-negotiable might be music, a training partner, five quiet minutes in the car, or a written workout waiting for you. The habit itself can be simple. What matters is having something dependable that helps you begin before motivation gets a vote.

What song puts you in training mode immediately? Drop it in the comments.

Need help building a fitness, nutrition, and supplement plan that still works on low-energy days? Stop by Max Muscle Sports Nutrition – Stone Mountain. We’ll help you build around your real life—not somebody else’s routine.
