It will be close, but setting our sights on moving the cows in before the winter storm watch tonight! Annie will miss her play arena though!
With the help of our family, we were able to process three pigs and some beef this weekend! Our freezers are full but the memories made in the shop are worth so much more!
*Anything processed on the farm can’t be sold but we should have pork set for processing in spring and are on a cancellation list for beef.
After a brief intermission for hunting and Thanksgiving, we are back at it! The roof is on and the cows hopefully will be in it within the next few weeks! We’ll continue to work on setting up the electric and water, but the structure is up and the yard is clear!!
It’s been a week of late nights and our toughest round of farrowing yet. Farming is great at reminding you of the many things we can not control. We are grateful for the progress made on the barn through the snow and the few piglets who seem to have made it through a crazy tough start.
🐷 Keeping us on our toes, Wilma had her piglets during the only bit of time Phil left her side during the past 48 hours and the first snow fall. The kids did an awesome job rewarming those that got too cold while checking on those still out with Wilma.
Somehow even though it’s November, freezing temps still snuck up on us! It’s been a big weekend of processing our turkeys, winterizing the farm, and taking shifts watching Wilma our sow who is due today. 🐷
Things are coming together!! A lot of little things to go yet, but seeing this take form has been so good!
One is not like the others. Can you spot the imposter? .
For anyone interested, we have one final pork box available! Feel free to message for details! This will be the last of our pork until our spring batch. Thanks to your awesome support our fall batch is already spoken for!
Farm+construction = wonderland of dirt
Soaking in this fall weather as much as we can. The last of the calves are weaned and the cows are enjoying the last month of grazing.
Enjoying the playing field until tomorrow when the posts go in!
It may not look like it but our new barn is coming right along!
Send a message to learn more.
Someone’s excited for his first canning season!
We weren’t planning on processing a cow the day before school starts but farming had other thoughts. The sunset was gorgeous as the boys wrapped up the last of the ground beef though! We had to process this one on the farm so are unable to sell any of it but will be keeping our eyes open for last minute openings for beef.
Nothing says summer like seeing the animals enjoying the pastures! A healthy pig will have a curly tail, I see a lot of curly tails in that grass 😍
We won’t be making the Farmer’s Market this week, but if anyone is in need of some bacon, brats, pork chops, or other delicious pork products, just let us know! We can meet locally Marshfield or Stratford
If calf hutch jumping ever becomes an Olympic sport, we are golden. This summer the kids have found the sweet balance of working hard and playing hard together on the farm.
When you really just want a horse 😍

Mud never looked cuter.
We just refreshed our pastured pork stash! We'll be posting some new pork boxes and sampler packs this week. If there's anything in particular you're looking for, feel free to message and we can try to customize to your preference!
While we've not expanded our pastured poultry beyond our family needs, it's always a big accomplishment to wrap up another year. We've done anywhere from 50-125 chickens and are constantly learning and adjusting the process.
Set up and ready to go!
Gearing up for our first Farmer's Market! Come check us out Wednesday at the Stratford Farmer's Market at the Ground Up Coffee Shop.

Farm breakfasts are a favorite during Christmas break. These porkies may not be perfectly uniform but they are ours. 🐷 The pigs my husband tended each day rain or shine. The sausage links my 6 & 8 year old stuffed in a bustling shop full of family all working together. Makes for many great meals and memories through the year. #pasturedpigs #familyfarm #homegrownfood #homestead #buylocal #freerangekids #farmkids #farmlife #berkshires
Enjoying breakfast completely unphased by the storm. While we had some damage and extra work to be done, we are fortunate. We have power, our family and animals are safe, and no major damage was done.
