Have you thought about raising your own pigs over the summer? Feeder pigs are surprisingly easy to raise, you just need a good fenced in area for them.
Our feeder pigs are heritage breed mixes (Herford/Berkshire/IPP) so they are even tempered once they get used to you and do well on pasture. They love a side salad of pasture greens along with their hog feed.
If you are interested in some of our feeders, message us here. We have some available now and will have more available in about a month.

These feeders have been a hit for our rabbits. They have helped us guarantee that even the biggest litter of baby rabbits have food available at all times.
Rabbits are some of our favorite things to raise for a variety of reasons. They are obviously adorable, but they are also quick growing, gentle, and take up much less space for the same amount of meat than any other farm animal we raise. It's hard to find another meat animal that is more efficient.
We have whole rabbits available if you are interested in trying some for yourself. Message us here or order online at our store www.faberfarmsllc.com
In a few months the weather will be warm enough to have our farm stand opened up to shop in person, too.

Not only have we been busy tending to our animals and planning our garden, but we've also been creating some fun 3-D printed items. Our rabbit feeders are available now on our website. Our other items will be available at our farm stand once we are open this summer. We have ring holders, soap holders, cabinet locks, 5-gallon bucket handles, and more.
Can't wait for the weather to warm so you can see these awesome projects for yourselves!

Why do we pasture-raise our pigs?
That's easy to answer. Pasture-raising allows the pigs to be pigs. They naturally want to root around so they can eat roots, bugs, and get their minerals. It also helps them stay mentally stimulated and reduces boredom.
All this to say, it helps them be as happy as possible. Happy pigs are healthy pigs. And this helps us provide the high quality pork that is so important to us.

We have a couple of 1/2 shares of pork available if you need to restock on some delicious pasture-raised pork. These shares come with a mix of roasts, chops, bacon, sausage, and some other goodies. Message us here, give us a call, or send us an email to stock up.

Spring cleaning on the farm in Minnesota might look different than your spring cleaning, but is sure leaves us and our rabbits feeling fresh.

Here’s another new project we’ve got going on at Faber Farms. If you order shares of beef or pork from us, you’ll receive some of these bags to hold your packaged meat. These (and other new items) will also be available for sale once our farm stand opens up this summer if you’re needing new reusable shopping bags.

Rabbit can be an intimidating protein to cook if you aren't familiar with it. Domesticated rabbit is a mild, white meat very similar to chicken (as cliche as it sounds). But, since it's leaner than chicken, it does best being cooked slowly.
Rabbit is one of the most sustainable proteins to raise when considering space, water consumption, feed costs, and meat ratios. That's why it's one of our specialties.
If knowing how to prepare it has kept you from trying this delicious protein, check out this simple recipe.
Learn how to cook rabbit until super tender with this easy recipe for rabbit roasted in a spicy onion gravy, a perfect dish for special occasions.

Think about your health. Think about the future. Think regeneratively.
Our farm is located just south of Sturgeon Lake, MN. We have been farming regeneratively on our small acreage since 2014.
We are passionate about farming and raising animals in a holistic, integrated way that mimics nature as best we can. We do not use synthetic fertilizers, fungicides, pesticides, or herbicides. Instead, we try to find natural and sustainable efforts to resolve problems. We use companion planting, crop rotation, and minimal tilling. We strive to become a no-till farm.
We raise meat rabbits, pastured poultry, and pastured pork. We grow herbs, fruit, vegetables, edible flowers, and wild, indigenous foods and offer CSA memberships. In addition, we have farm fresh chicken and duck eggs.
Our strategies of integrating cash crops, cover crops, companion plants, minimal tilling, and livestock help repair the health of our soil. This helps our soil utilize water more efficiently, enriches the soil, creates a more diverse ecosystem, and produces more nutritious food.
Our goals are to provide you with fresh, local, seasonal food and to build a local food community by supporting fellow members of our community and building up other farmers.
