A Tropical storm on the first day of September? That's how Autumn works in the deep south. It's a stretch to imagine a cozy fall day, right?? (Yes, I know it's early--just go with it )

Tomatoes? Nope-- Stink bugs destroyed them. Green beans? Also, No-- they became a late night deer buffet.

The one thing I can always count in the garden is the herb bed. It makes the house smell so bright and fresh and I feel so pioneer-y stripping the leaves from the stems.

This is my favorite harvest--one that I use year round!

It's time to make more Herb Salt!
