We are thrilled to announce that North Farm will be hosting our very first big event – the 3rd Annual Big Change Equals Big Change Fundraiser for 5Loaves2Fish!

Join us for an evening filled with music, delicious food, and the beauty of our vineyard. We’re excited to showcase our farm and support the incredible work of 5Loaves2Fish. Enjoy offerings from our classic hot dog cart, featuring local brats and veggie dogs, along with fresh salads and delectable desserts. Take a tour of our vineyard and experience the charm of North Farm.
5Loaves2Fish was founded by Michelle and Bill White, inspired by the compassion and dedication of Melissa. Michelle shares their story: “I met Melissa in 2017 at my Art and Soul North table at Central United Methodist Church. We became friends, and I learned how deeply she cares for her community, especially her friends on the street. She knows that life. She has been there.
In March 2020, when everything shut down due to Covid-19, many outreach services dwindled. Melissa called me in a panic, saying, ‘We need to feed our people.’ We started cooking, loaded up the car, and went to meet Melissa. We met in parking lots and passed the food to her to deliver. She knew where to go. It is because of Melissa that 5Loaves2Fish is here. Never underestimate the power of love! Thank you, Melissa.”
We soon learned that many in our community face hunger. Forty percent of the population of Leelanau County battles hunger or food insecurity regularly. A small group of dedicated volunteers and supporters quickly stepped in to help – and they have not stopped.
With the unwavering support of volunteers and the guidance of Jane Lippert from Central United Methodist Church, 5Loaves2Fish has made a significant impact. Jane’s church programs have been instrumental in reaching the vulnerable, ensuring that no one goes hungry.
At North Farm, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. We are honored to support 5Loaves2Fish and their mission to provide dignity and aid to those in need. As Michelle says, “The big thing for us is to maintain dignity. I don’t need to know your circumstances. I just want to be there to help you.”
