The 1974 vintage corn dryer is still doing it's job!

The end of an era is rapidly approaching for the Brones family and the surrounding community. For the last 110 years, there has been a Brones actively farming northwest of Swea City, Iowa. Our last harvest was completed a few weeks ago. All of the farm equipment is cleaned, winterized and lined up, awaiting the auctioneers gavel. The land has been leased to new agricultural families. Goodbye friends and neighbors, it's been a good run! A new chapter is being written for all of us!

For the last 110 years, there has been a Brones family member planting this north central Iowa 1/4 section of farmland. With sadness in my heart and tears in my eyes, I am drawing to a close our 110 year tradition at section 13, Eagle Township, Kossuth County, Iowa.

Visitation for Kenneth Brones will be held at the Swea City United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 5 - 7pm. Funeral services will be held at the Swea City United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 10:30am

Today is the end of a era! At 8:08am, Kenneth Brones passed away suddenly. He was a Great American Farmer to the very end and he will be sorely missed. Goodbye Uncle Kenny, we love you!
