I've been catching lots of neat birds on the Merlin Bird ID app, and finally caught the owl!

Every morning I get up well before sunrise, and can hear it traveling throughout our community. Usually too far for my phone to catch, but never too faint for my ears.

It gets closer sometimes!

Had an owl perched on an old dead tree at the front of our pasture the other morning.

Haven't been able to put my finger on what kind of owl, but I hear it most mornings.

Itself & 2 hawks monitor our pastures, and appear to keep things pretty clean. So far none have bothered the cat, so they can remain residents!

Another thing we enjoy doing when we aren't busy with farm work is exploring!

We love to look through old trash (literally) and have decorated most of our house with antiques we've dug up & found

Here's a cute little Walkers Drug Store bottle - estimated to be from between the 1930s and 1950s, which were the peak decades of operation for the Walker Drug Company in Birmingham.

Interesting to think of how this bottle was crafted, packed, travelled all the way from IL to AL, to be filled and capped by a local druggist, and used... almost a century ago!

The cow dog, my hubby & myself just fell victim to a mad yellow jacket attack 😮‍💨 Got us in the front yard and remained strong on the mission INTO OUR HOUSE 😂

We've got blueberries! 🫐

Our mature blueberry bush (seriously, this things nearly the size of a tractor) has put out just over 1/3 lb of Blueberries on today's harvest.

Hoping to add more to the farm in the future to broaden our varieties & increase our yields.
