‼️ WANTED: Pole Barn Builders ‼️

One of our companies, Amish Barns of Virginia/Four Winds Construction (whom is building our tasting room and a new event center at Smith Mountain Lake), are looking for a crew or workers capable of building post frame structures.

Mostly we need workers near our Smith Mountain Lake base location but may also need some at our Tappahannock construction base. If you are willing to travel, the amount of work is endless.

We would be open to either employees or subcontractors. We would be happy to work with other construction companies as a sub for labor only.

Most of our workers should be able to earn $30-$60/hr for driving distance work depending on their efficiency, proficiency, and work ethic. (Most projects are paid “by the job” but the hourly rate falls into that range). If you are willing to travel and can be trusted, you would potentially earn more.

Requirements are honesty, high quality work, and good work ethic. We have numerous Amish crews we love and always welcome more, but being Amish is definitely not required.

Email Tyler at [email protected] with your experience/skills/resume. Please include your phone number.

🙌🎟️ CONTEST TIME! 🎟️🙌

Who is ready to relive the fun of Craig Morgan Concert again on October 3?!?! Who is coming?!?! This artist/band has charted more singles than most ever release! They have
‼️ OVER 20 TOP 10 HITS ‼️

Do you realize that means they can barely play half of their TOP 10 HITS in any given concert?!?! WOW!

On another note…
We want to wish all the DADS out there a happy Father’s Day! I was looking through pictures of my kids today to find one to post here and it got me thinking about how quickly time moves. One day you’re holding a little boy’s hand and helping him take those first uncertain steps, and before you know it you’re watching him walk his own path through life, just like Sawyer! Funny how some memories never seem to fade no matter how many years pass. The older I get, the more I appreciate the journey itself and the people who walked beside me along the way, such as my own father (Happy Father’s Day to Mike Wind)!

There is a lot of wisdom I have learned growing up in rural Virginia & the NNK that I try to impart on my kids. The easiest route isn’t always the best route. Sometimes the pavement ends. Sometimes our dirt road get dusty—I know the ones at our farm where the winery is sure do! The most rewarding destinations require a little extra effort to reach.

Since it’s Sunday and with announcement of our Aug 9 Christian Fest line up coming in the next few days, I also found myself thinking about faith and the huge role it plays in my life. We all face challenges that seem bigger than us. Sometimes the world doesn’t always understand what we believe, why we believe it, or why we keep going when things get tough. Yet time and again, grace has a way of showing up in unexpected places and Jesus catches us in His arms, reminding us that we’re never carrying the load alone.

While I am rambling with unsolicited life advice, another bit of wisdom I try to impart upon my own kids is that some people spend too much time worrying about what others think. Life’s a lot more enjoyable when you’re comfortable being yourself. Some people drive fancy cars. Some people drive old trucks. Some people follow the crowd. Some people don’t. That’s okay. The world would be a pretty boring place if everybody was the same!

🎟️ TICKETS for this event will be released somewhere around July 4th! Speaking of that, the now retired “Dr. Wind” would like to offer his annual public service announcement: fireworks can be dangerous! Every year people underestimate them, and every year someone ends up wishing they had been a little more careful—I had the unenviable job of operating on numerous hands that did not survive fireworks where the folks did not get away in time. One second everything looks bright and exciting, and the next second things can quite literally blow up in your face. Please celebrate safely this Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Lastly, one thing that was proven last night at the Craig Morgan show is there’s something special about small-town America! The places where everybody knows everybody. The local diner. The corner café. The conversations that happen over a cup of coffee. The stories passed down from one generation to the next. Those places may not make national headlines, but they’re often where you’ll find the heart of a community. Do not take the great life we have here in the NNK region for granted—we are blessed!

Anyway, enough rambling for one day. Somewhere in all those thoughts may be a clue or two! 🤷‍♂️PLUS, there are a lot of decoys to lead you astray with your guesses!

Either way, the race is on to grab the FREE TICKETS! Who will win?🤔 Drop your guess below! 👇
