At Red River Worm Farm, we don't just raise worms -- we raise microbes.

This compost pile is the beginning of that process: a mix of cow manure, soaked shredded cardboard, and blood meal, carefully balanced to create a living, microbe-rich foundation for our European Nightcrawler worm bedding.

Each layer works together:
🐮 Cow Manure + 🩸 Blood Meal = Nitrogen-rich fuel for microbial life
📦 Cardboard = Carbon and structure for aeration
💧 Moisture = The key to activating the microbial engine

Once this compost matures, it becomes the perfect environment for our worms to thrive -- turning waste into premium worm castings that rebuild soil health/structure, retain moisture, and boost nutrient cycling naturally.
