Locust Grove - The Farm We are a small, regenerative, family farm trying to do our best to steward our little patch of creation well. We also raise Maremma livestock guardian dogs.

We raise grass fed Red Devon cattle and St Croix sheep.

After a spring full new life and some challenges, we welcomed our last baby of the spring— another bull calf. We are very thankful for his quiet, peaceful birth. The sunsets have been amazing lately and this day was absolutely awe inspiring in single every direction we looked. Only the creator of all things could get our attention like this.

Being an LGD puppy at Locust Grove - The Farm is fun and serious. In this first picture - the three sisters we have remaining are rough-housing with mom looking on in the background. In the other pictures you can see a puppy with it's business face on - treating it's guard job like the serious business that it is. These pups are off to a great start already at 12 weeks old - they alert well, are trained to hot wire, and are doing great with sheep (including January lambs) and cattle. Check out these LGD's in action! Polly and Digory made sure to be between the sheep and our friend Gustafson when he stopped by to see the animals while on a bike ride. Their puppies were nearby learning how to be great livestock guardians. When we have a guest up at the house, the LGD's are glad to meet them and get belly rubs, but they're suspicious of anyone out on the road.

We had some really sweet blessings on the farm this winter— 6 lambs and 9 Maremma puppies! The puppies have been learning the ropes from mom and dad and are just about ready to head off to their new farms.



Lambs are growing fast as well and the spring lambing & calving is rapidly approaching!

Well, the puppies are getting bigger and starting to venture out further into the pasture with mom and dad, are trained to the fence and just as cute as ever. Puppy time has been a fun time on the farm! We still have a few girls and boys left!

When we enter the pasture to move the livestock to the next paddock sometimes everyone comes to greet us! They were ready to move last night!
